The band is picking a few higher gain songs to start working on and I have been testing out a few/many and so far this one seems to have some pretty big balls on it through my system, SC20H + Stomp XL in 4CM. At home, it sounds awesome but in a mix I may have to pull down the Depth so it doesnt get too boomy or flubby. Is this the right way to make it sound good in a mix? Right now it sounds better without a clean boost that I have been using with my Dual Rec preset. Really doesnt seem to need anything other than some EQ tweaks

I would love to be able to dial in the new Bogner's, but TBH, they sound like shit with my rig because I don't know how to dial them in evidently. I usually start with how they are and start working them out, but nothing I do makes them sound anything but thin.

Any other's I should check out for some good metal toanz???

Sounds good, is good is the only rule, really. I couldn’t find anything I wanted out of the new Bogner models for high gain, either. My feeling was the same in that there’s some beef missing on bottom end, but I’m also more of a Uber/Revv/5150 high gain player. Don’t overlook the Revv models for chewy high gain. The Aggression control can replace a boost in a lot of situations.

Right on! I'll check out those others except the 5150's, I already have those dialed in pretty good, but the lead guitar has a real 5150 that he plays.

It seems having two different guitar tones adds depth, cant think of any other term, to the overall sound. At our first gig a few weeks ago I was playing through my SC20H and he was playing a 5150 and we got tons of compliments on it. Marshall Crunch + 5150 Gain = :chef

Archetype Lead was my jam when it was added. I used it for some mid-forward, not-so-saturated metal tones:

That was most likely boosted with the Compulsive Drive into a Guitar Hack's IR blend.

Badonk has been my jam ever since it was added. I like to boost it with the Horizon Drive or other TS, Gain and Master around 4.5 and Bias at 6:

When I think Bogner, I think leads more than rhythm, maybe for the more classic metal sounds.

Have you tried the Oblivian?

I've gotten great results and the built in boost is nice

...also, the OG Badonk is teh awesome

Thanks, Guys! I'll give those a try this weekend. Nice playing @Alex Kenivel!!
