Hiccups with Aurora DSP Ironheart VST

I have a problem with a the Aurora DSP Ironheart VST/standalone. And only with this specific plugin. Any other plugin works fine and without hiccups.

The Ironheart VST will only work when it is displayed on top. When it is the first/top window on my Win 11 PC. If there is another window "over it" (Firefox, Chrome, any other) it will get severe "hiccups". Like staccato sound and digital artifacts. This appears in both, the standalone and the VST (loaded in Cantabile). I have other plugins (HX Native, ML Soundlab, Neural, etc), that don't have this problem at all. I tried giving it higher priority through task manager (real time), but that did not work. I thought my Scarlet Solo (Gen3) could be the problem, but that works fine for anything else with the standard 128/256 rate (4.xx ms latency).

Anybody else have had this/another specific VST that had this problem and fixed it?

My PC runs any Neural/other VST I throw at it just fine.

(I contacted the Aurora Support as well, but I hope someone else here is quicker and more knowledgeable)

Hey Bahama, I had an identical issue earlier in the year but for some reason it caused all of my guitar vst's to have this issue! I believe it was a Windows setting that fixed it for me but I can't remember which one exactly. Sorry I can't help more but this might give you something to start looking at 🤞🏻

This can happen if sample rates are not the same in both Windows > Sound Settings > More settings > devices > right click > properties (do the same for every device) and, ASIO settings in your DAW / or Standalone APP
