Helix Talk

I can clearly see another 2nd hand OG Stomp added to my arsenal one day. Just because I'm incredibly familiar with it already and because there's already plenty of occasions where I'd prefer to leave it on a board, in a case, a gigbag, a tourbus or whatever - and still have one for all the other occasions.

@Digital Igloo, pricing aside, do you have any information of Helix Stadiums availability in Europe? Can we expect the same fall/winter timeline as the US?

Asking because though some US retailers are allowing (pre?)pre-orders, none of the usual suspects in the EU do just yet.
No info on European availability, I'm afraid. US dealers aren't supposed to take preorders either—in fact, they were all supposed to wait until the 25th. Maybe they're putting people on a list to be the first to preorder on the 25th—like a preorder to preorder?

My Sweetwater dude has me on the list for their first shipment - so I’m sure it’s an in house thing!

A sweetwater rep will probably put you on a list for something that hasn’t even been announced yet if he thinks it will make you happy to spend more money there.
I have to give them credit. I bought one thing from them one time about 30 years ago, and even though I've probably been passed to 25 different reps, they still check in periodically to make sure I have everything I need/want. And they do so without making pests of themselves.

Oh yeah I’m not complaining. Sweetwater have honored their 2 year warranty for a purchase that would have left me SOL if I bought from guitar center. And they’ve been good about matching GC discounts for me whenever possible, so I always go back to my sweetwater guy when I’m buying anything they sell.

Might as well buy one used. The Helix Floor is amazing... and i have a feeling you'll soon see a lot of them on the used marked.
I have a hard time buying used shit. That’s just me.

Had a 15% off in-store coupon for GC. But the fuckers priced the 1299 as if it was a sale on 1499. So coupon can’t be used. So I didn’t buy one out of principle.

My SW guy is terrible.
Mine let me return a Schecter 7 string after owning it for THREE MONTHS, full money back because I just didn’t jive with it and I couldn’t get rid of some fret buzz. Other than that he’s pretty chill. He doesn’t bother me and he helps me when I reach out to him so I keep on coming back.

Helix Stadium XL - $2200
Yamaha Revstar Professional - $2200

Coincidence? I think not!

Oh btw, for whatever reasons, I think DXR 10s are a better choice for most modeling applications (I tried a bunch of 10s vs 12s when looking for a fullrange monitor, 10s always came out more balanced).
Would also bring you a bit closer to the WaveRunner asking price.
