Helix Talk

Not really sure how Fractal (or anyone else, honestly) can keep pace with all that’s in that. It just instantly makes every other HW modeller seem dated by some distance.

Keen to hear the modelling improvements, and I REALLY hope Helix finally gets some better reverbs. So many of the things I was hoping to see have been addressed here, really feels like L6 have listened to users and delivered it and more.

Ok…what’s the boot time?

I actually don't know what to think about all the work that surely went into the multitrack audio playback and stem splitting.
I don't know any single person IRL that would use this. But otoh, it might start a new trend. And it might become the second coming for one-man-bands. DovyDas certainly approves.
That must be meant for solo players. There are so many lately and not only street players, at least in my town. Licenses for gigs have gone quite expensive, many bands have a hard time to find a venue where they allow drums, and many people is going solo just because of this.

Not to mention the oh-so-many instagram players that have emerged in the last few years. This is aimed at them.

You might be right.
And well, depending on the available storage space, it might just be great to have a whole bunch of tracks saved on the unit to practice and what not, without ever having to reach for anything in addition.

1,000%

There's also recording, I mean, yeah, ideally, you'd want to have control over everything when recording to a DAW, but there's guys like me who barely know how to activate a DAW, or who have been hooking up an entire computer to my Helix to play along to music.

There's also a microSD slot, so I think everything's been though out.

Was anything specific said about how much more powerful stadium is than floor/lt? Or about whether additional updates will be coming to the older units, or is 3.8 the end of the road?
