I started around 1976 on a Gibbon (SG model), a Japanese Gibson copy... and even that got stolen... :bonk

About 3 yrs ago I walked out my back door on to my deck and a large box was leaning against the railing. I knew from the shape of the box what it was and all the labels aside from my address were in Chinese. I was stunned because I had ordered nothing..

This was inside. It's a pretty decent Lester aside from the electronics. To this day I have no idea how this happened.

No idea who Fang Fang is.. :idk

I was just thankful that someone sent me a free guitar... :banana

At that point in time it took some of the sting off of our label's shenanigans..:cuss

If customs get ahold of these they destroy them.
No they won’t.
It’s not illegal to buy or own them.
It is however illegal to sell them .
All mine had these foil stickers

over the headstock name decals when they arrived.
I bought mine out of interest and for a bit of fun from an eBay seller and they will never be sold on.
They are in the process of being modified .

Depends where you live .
USA destroys them, so do the Uk and the EU .

A guitarist friend that I've known for a coupla years showed up for a gig at one of the same places that I often play at. He had what looked like a single pickup Black Beauty LP Custom with a wraparound Lightning Bolt bridge. I knew it was a fake but I liked the look of it. He let me play it and it was a pretty good sounding and playing guitar. He knew of a guy who had another one of them, so I ended up buying one. It needed some fretwork and a setup to make it play smooth and I had the pickup, pots, jack, nut and tuners changed out. It plays really slick and sounds great. I get so many questions and compliments about this guitar when I play it out.

The last one I saw even had fake Grovers( real ones are bad enough) it was a total trash pile but I have seen a couple that were as good as Epiphone . Very risky to buy one you can’t see first. Customs may keep it ( depending where you live ) and even if gets to you it is a total lottery with no comeback.
Also if you don’t want the price of real gear going even higher this shit should be avoided.
