I miss my Mesa Boogie EVM12L loaded Thiele, but not many on the used market. I just saw this Harley Benton hG112Plus Thiele Unloaded even with the 90USD shipping to the US comes out to $209USD to my door, I was thinking about building my own with the EV TL806 plans, but this seems like the way too go, there is no way that i can make it under that price plus the time. My question is does anyone have any idea of the quality of these cabs?

Thanks,

FWIW I got two of the non-Thiele H&B 1x12.
Here in Krautistan, they are readily available on the used market, and they are sometimes cheaper than the V30 alone they come with. :idk
They are entirely unshitty.
The box is sturdy, tolex and grill cloth are well done, the screw holes for the speaker sport drive-in nuts...
I've got nothing to complain about, which is, given the price point, a pretty clear endorsement.
I'd expect the Thiele version to be of similar build quality.

Those Thiele versions look like they have at least a bit nicer tolex than the regular guitar cabs. The HBs I've seen really had terrible looking tolex.

I received the "Harley Benton G112Plus Thiele Unloade Bundle" today, great double box packing from https://www.thomannmusic.com/

Double checked the measurements with the EV's TL806 EVM12L builders plans that I found on the web and all of them match, construction looks very solid to me. Now waiting for the driver.

So a Thiele is just an oversized ported cab?

More like undersized, they're pretty small. :giggle:
I had a thiele/EVM12L for a while. Not my thing.
Gotcha

For the price, it's worth the experiment. Keep us posted, im interested...just for curiosity sake.

I will, before I sold my Mesa Boogie one 2 years ago, I had it for about 20 years or more.
Also, upon further review and research...this is specifically for the EV.....now i get it. Sorry . I am a bit inexperienced with this set up.

Eager to hear your thoughts---as I have an old SRO EV that needs an home.

Finally decided and ordered a new EV EVM12L Classic, I shopped Reverb for a couple days thinking about buying a used speaker but nothing seemed right. The speaker came yesterday and I mounted it right away, the cab came with four M4 2.7cm screws and there are metal t-nuts on the plywood, I’m thinking about ordering some longer screws.

It sounds great to my ears, as I remember my old Boogie Thiele sounded, I haven’t played with a real cab in a couple of years, I forgot how much fun it is, so much inspiring than studio monitors.
