Working with the plugin (from Eventide) and struggling to understand what each control does, and basically how to use the thing.

I clicked on "load" and you're damn right.

There are all kinds of folders with "presets" for various instruments and vocals.

Yeah, I'm reading up on the fascinating history of the unit right now.

It's first usage was to correct (lower) the audio pitch of "I Love Lucy" re-runs, after a TV station sped up the video to allow more commercials to be inserted.

I really like it for fattening up a snare drum, a la AC/DC:

You are absolutely right! We fed a gated snare signal into an H910 detuned to about 93 with the feedback and anti feedback up. This was a real pain as it would fail to trigger sometimes. Yes it was just under the real snare. no other harmonizer will work!! I often use short delays to fatten up the sound of many instruments.

The AC/DC sound - guitars, amps, and mics

Also cool for vocal/guitar widening, transitions/background fx, production ear candy etc.
