Groundhog Audio OnePedal Kickstarter Next Week

You know what would be a helpful use of AI? Something that analyzes the output tone of my modeler and then tells me if I'm doing anything dumb. Like "hey 90% of people are running a high cut at 8k and you don't have one on this patch and there's a ton of frequency content that people read as harsh, so you may want to try applying this EQ block".

Is there even a market for this kind of feature/product? Seems like a solution looking for a problem, no?

You learn to play the guitar cus you fall in love with some artist's music, and part of that learning is figuring out how the artist got the sound. Who's out there learning songs but DGAF about putting the tone together?

"It's for cover bands," not really though? If it matches album guitar tones, your tone's gonna be wildly different from song to song, doesn't work in a cover band.

Dunno, maybe it's just me getting old but can't imagine a market for this.

There are mixing/mastering tools like this and they suck huge amounts of unwashed ass. Sure, you hit a curve, but there’s no consideration of the source other than how to manipulate it to an output and music in general is just too dynamic for any of it to work (for me, anyways).

I could use something like this for gain staging. My presets never wind up anything like factory presets in terms of levels, and none of the "common wisdom", like making your presets the same loudness as your bypass state, seems to work for me either.

If it weren't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all. And if it weren't for artificial intelligence, I wouldn't have any intelligence at all.

Using AI stems analysis to replicate guitar tones in songs:

This sort of solution has been predicted for a couple of years. Also looks to use some post-analysis modeling to create the signal chain and adapt that to the guitar you're using (kinda how BOSS has had per-guitar settings in the GT-1000).

Anecdotally, I've had several conversations with cover guitarists lately who have expressed to me they wish modeling could just give them the right tone, instead of them having to learn an entire toolbox to get there. Kinda flies in the face of "all presets suck." While almost all of us here want a complete toolbox, there's a large portion of guitarists who just don't want to spend that time with their gear and just want to focus on playing.
