GC amp listed as "Condition: Used - Good"

Besides this particular 'piece', is the Nomad universally despised or something? I played one at a jam session and thought it was fairly decent. But can't remember what version it was as this was 20+ years ago.

It’s one of Mesa’s 2nd tier amps of the 90s. Was trying to do the three channel thing and had the GEQ like a Mark but just wasn’t there. At least the 55 and 100. The 45 with EL84s was actually pretty good. But if you’re going to get an EL84 Mesa from that time, I’d go with the Maverick over the Nomad any day because the Maverick is actually a pretty damn good amp.

I have tried a Maverick too, nice amp... at another jam session. Seems that's the only times I've played Mesa --.
Same goes for the Blue Angel and Heartbreaker, both also great amps.

I only played the Heartbreaker at a GC but I actually liked it a lot. That’s one I wouldn’t mind having.

"I've gigged with Nomad 45s, 55s and mini-rectos"

...ummm; that's not experience. But thanks anyway? :ROFLMAO:
“Of all the shit I’ve gigged with, this is the best shit.”

At least they included several slightly out of focus pics instead of the usual just one so square on you can only see one side of the amp (not in focus).

Hire minimum wage wannabe rock stars, get minimum wage wannabe rock star work ethic.

Mine here isn’t even want to be rock stars.. last time I went was to get some drum stuff, I go in the drum dept and there was a cute young lady helping someone, I said wow a cute drummer chick, cool! She goes in the back to grab something for the dude, comes back out and he goes no that’s a single pedal, I need the double.. she then said she wasn’t a drummer and didn’t know what a double kick pedal was, he had to explain to her. I was kind of sad lol

My didn't quite make it Mesa GAS moments usually revolve around a DC something or other, random Stilletto model, an Electradyne I don't need and a Transatlantic something or other. Most other odd ducks in the Mesa family other than the Badlander don't hold any sway. The one shown in the OP obviously definitely not

I'm still trying to figure out the "how"
My best guess: the other guitarist in the band got tired of telling him he needed a new amp cause his tone sucked so he kicked it out the back of the van as they were leaving the gig. The cord got stuck in the bumper so it was dragged the rest of the way to the warehouse space they rent….

It was in good condition when it was brought in, that’s what happens after a weekend on the sales floor at GC.
Not a lie. The stores here in Phoenix are in such bad shape. The Tempe store has a literal pile of amp heads in the corner. They are all dusty, missing knobs, etc. The last time I was there, a Mark V and SLO 30 were just haphazardly on top of a pile of other heads and were not in great shape. I found what should have been a really nice Ibanez guitar at the Mesa location the other day that, but it was terribly dirty, and not just missing a string but missing the ferrule (the metal ring you string through from the back) for the string, and they had it on the sales floor! They’re not even making an effort to fix up an item for purchase, they’re just throwing stuff out on the floor in disrepair.

I've only been to a few GCs and this was my experience. I was amazed how poorly managed they were.

Who woulda thought paying a bunch of kids $8/hr to protect and maintain millions of dollars worth of inventory could backfire??

I had them smash 2 used/vintage amps this year in shipping due to pants-on-head-stupid packing. Even with their markups I could see a world where they are bleeding out on their used inventory.

I keep waiting for them to nix used gear shipping.

i think nomads get unduly bad press, but mostly cause they dont sound like marks or rectos. but like anything mesa, theyre hideous targets of user error by a huge margin. ive never met one that was utterly useless, just really misunderstood. i still think electradynes are the best marshall ever made..

I still want an Electradyne.
