Gator Mini Vault?

I use Enki’s but have a few friends who use the gator. They seem to like them ok, the only complaint I’ve heard is lack of space for certain body styles and unlike Enki the don’t make different sizes, but that’s a specific use issue and may not apply to you. That said, I’ve handled both, and think the Enki is more solid and better overall.

I fly with my Enki all the time (my band practices in a different part of the country so I have to fly to practice and back, as well as any fly in show dates and such outside of touring) so it gets quite a bit of use.

I have a couple of customers who have them and they weren’t particularly complimentary. Mostly about the guitars able to move around in them too easily. I can see that being a problem on some instruments.

The one I have (first gen, more narrow than current iteration) is okay. Yes, protective, but VERY narrow.

Guitars are very close together and if you have something with an angled headstock like my LP it can be VERY nerve-wracking to decide if you want the headstock nearly touching the wall of the case or if you want the other guitar's headstock so close to it.

I made the mistake of putting 2 trem-equipped guitars in without removing the trem arms...ended up with a nasty gouge in the back of my Suhr. Argh!

Last thoughts: that narrow-ness means the entire case kinda flops over onto its side when I try to turn (change direction) while rolling it. Annoying, but not the end of the world. It also isn't square anywhere; it's an odd shape. Might matter when the case is being packed into a truck or the belly of a plane for travel?

I haven't flown with it, it's been in the back of various trucks, though.

Good luck to ya!
