Fractal Talk

looks at Fractal's Vox line up...

Can't lie, I was googling the new Handwired series Vox has just released, apparently it's closer to the old JMI era than ever.
The hot/cold switch on the Treble Boost channel is removed and supposedly the master volume is PPIMV now, also a high voltage zero loss FX loop with a hard bypass.

I don't have room in the house for amps and cabs anymore, I just want to trust Fractal that their models are well researched, accurately modeled, and have the seasonal tune up / remastering.

I've moved right on from amps. Fractal (UA for some convenience) brings me everything I need. The new Vox range makes my wallet pucker a little, though. At least I think its my wallet. :D

Vox is totally my jam. I'm still searching for my "forever" modelled model. ha!

UA lacks a "Unison-enabled" one, too.

Offer to hold that beer stands, amigo. Thanks again for all your knowledge, curiosity, poking, prodding... ... ...

And some people wanted James banned on the FAS forum for being "mean" 😂

Last FM9 firmware is two months old and there's been several Axe FXIII and AM4 updates, are the FMs being abandoned?
Likely just the case that their different architecture makes porting a lot more time consuming effort. So it's best to do it when Axe-Fx 3 is in a stable condition.

There was a few bugs in the FM they were working on to do w the pitch block I believe was one so I suspect there has likely been a lot of behind the scenes beta

Yeah not to be one of those "THE FM9/3 IS BEING FORGOTTEN"

But the update pace is significantly slower on them. I get the FM3 but even the delay in the FM9 is a bummer. I'm sure some of it has to do with pushing the limits of the III and trying to get that to work in the "lesser" units. The AM4 absolutely seems the route to go if you only need 4 blocks and limited capabilities.

At the end of the day though, these units get more updates than any other device.

Call it complete speculation but I think they are working on AXE 4
Developing those algos and running them on the new hardware
Then try to port it to the Axe 3 or pieces of it
2 . They are likely working on next Icons release
More of the updates now are looking like picking off the wish list items and bug fixes or optimizations

I don't think that's speculation at all at this point! If Cliff has already mentioned what is going to be included, I have to think they've started working on it....perhaps for years already!
