I totally disagree.

One IR per amp? What if you like SM57 and I like M160 mic? Who gets what they want?

Just because you use only a small selection of what's there is irrelevant because that's for you, not for me or the next guy.

There are many options because each person has their own small subset that make sense for their use case.

You have to look at the bigger picture...
Including them on the website not on the device.

Man, I installed iPadOS 26 today, and dude, it’s killer. Literally the only fucking reason I need a laptop at this point is for FM9-Edit. I wish they’d do it, even though obviously it’d require a USB cable.

I have a feeling that the next gen units are going to primarily focus on adding more features than anything else. I'd love to see them add mic pres and more I/O in general so the thing could process guitars, bass and vocals all in one box to send to IEMs and FOH all using one unit. Then you wouldn't need to have a mixer in your rack for such a thing.

Think I’ve found the one reason the VP4 is not a good audio interface candidate, unless I’m doing something wrong. At 0db/ flat preset output, it’s way too loud to play during quiet hours. If I turn that volume down enough to monitor at an acceptable volume, the signal becomes too weak for Logic. My solution now is using the VP4 as input and my Scarlett Solo as output for recording which I guess is just accomplishing the same thing at the end of the day. I am admittedly dumb af when it comes to this stuff though, it could be me.

Yeah its an issue for any digital modeler used as interface. With AIs you can adjust the input gain.

Always best to have a dedicated AI imo

Yknow... I am thinking of selling my VP4 and Axe FX III. Again I'm looking at how much I actually use of their capabilities, and how often I use them... and I really don't. Not to the level they deserve.

Actually these days... a volume, wah, delay, and reverb ... seems to be about as much as I need. And So I'm using my Lehle, bb535, Nemesis, and Golden ... and tbh that covers 95% of the tones I need.

The Fractal stuff, as good as it is... just really expensive paperweights for me at the moment.
Make someone else happy and sell it. Works for everyone.
