VP4 is in hand, this is a really slick device. I'm at work for the next hour but I bought it off my coworker/buddy and I couldn't wait to update it and import my IRs lol

Bummer, but still very cool that you can load IRs! That’s a smart feature when a lot of people will probably want to run out of a load box into this for post-amp effects

Maaaaaaan I wish we had the option of ditching all the IR’s and just adding more DynaCabs. I’m literally using 3 IR’s at this point, one for bass and a couple for the Gilmour tones, but I’d MUCH rather replace them with DynaCabs. That’s been the biggest update for me outside of the original Cygnus update.

I wish there was a way they could get usage statistics on how many people use each IR. Some of them are terrible and I can’t imagine many people are using them.

I bet they would find they’ve got tons of IRs taking up space that nobody even uses

Also, this thing is QUIET. I don’t need a noise gate I guess - I don’t even have the one on the unit engaged and it’s almost silent.

Well I got impatient and bought the DynaCab Recto pack, when they authorize my payment etc etc I’m going to try it - I will report back on whether or not you can use the resulting mix from CabLab with the VP4

From what I understand, using CabLab and a DynaCab pack is essentially like dialing in a DynaCab on the device, and then capturing the mix into a User Cab. So it’s kinda like having a DynaCab block as far as the quality and technology, but it’s a fixed mix. Am I wrong?

I get the hype now, this is my first FAS device. Dialed in my preset and after getting lost in it, changed out a reverb here or there, still got lost in it. Same with delays and chorus, these effects sound fucking amazing feels like I’ve been chasing this for a long time.

I take full credit for converting you since I was the one to tell you about the cab functionality that was coming.

Which ones for the Gilmour tones?

BTW, I've just found that this combination of legacy cabs, taken from a John Cordy preset, is great. No nasty fizz in the highs, but still with clarity and punch.

He had the two IRs panned +54 -54, but I have centered them.

Here is my version of that preset (work on progress; I discovered that CAB yesterday)
