Fractal Talk

Damn! This thread has 3x's the views/responses/pages than the Helix thread, yet Helix is, (I'm making an educated guess here), in more than 3x's as many rigs.

Could there be a correlation?

Brock's in heaven, and I remember how much Mike gushed about his Helix..., until he switched. I know that's just anecdotal and all that, but I just wonder if it's a case of better/more marketing for Line 6, in that they're more popular than Fractal.

Or is it b/c Line 6 is in stores? Combination of both? Other reasons? I'm way off? :rofl

Just thinking out loud here. No shade on Line 6.

Can someone tell me what these symbols mean?

The blocks with || before and after name doesn't seem to work for me.

But what does the solid block inside of a block mean and what does the 4 solid blocks mean?

Also what does the (1) and (2) mean? I thought maybe different versions of them but so far haven't hear a difference between them?

Is there a RTFM for this lol

The (1) and (2) means they're duplicates, at least in name.

For sure I loved my Helix great product, but the Fractal is next level for me, like you no shade to L6 its just I knew I could do much more on a Fractal, and so far I'm not wrong

And I have read many more posts switching to Fractal and being overall more pleased, than the other way around. (Here, FAS, & TOP) But in fairness, I've never visited a L6 forum.

Im thinking having a larger share of the marketplace familiar with your product/reputation, having product in a broad range of price point, having product in brick and mortar stores around the globe are three reasons.

Personally I had a Helix floor from 2015 unit about a year ago. In that time I literally bought and sold off two AxeFx III, one AxeFx II, one FM9, two FM3's and the Helix Floor said hello and waved good bye to all of them. It was my hub and a strong contender for #1.
Yet now I have my third FM3 and only have Helix Native and HX1 as my Line 6 arsenal.

Sounds like bug.

Is that because you're trying to make Fractal something it just isn't, for you? Genuinely curious.

Primary reason for me flipping stuff is when I see an expensive piece of gear that I decide in the moment I’m not using it enough to have it sitting there…it starts to look like cash I could put into the next new thing…
Since I prefer a real amp when conditions allow any modeling rig can sit unused from time to time.
So I sell a Fractal ( they have great resale value) buy a Quad Cortex, for example, and end up selling that six months later.

Second reason was I decided my modeling solution must be portable and include USB audio so I bought every thing that fit that description.
After about two years of that I have a Powered Kemper toaster and a passive Kemper Kab as my total digital ‘amp’ rig. It’s very compact for what it provides) A Kemper Player, and I just got the F3 for the 3rd time and now realize that the FM3 isn’t too big if you want the best and most of amp/cab/effects all in a single chassis. I imagine I’ll sell the Kemper Player before long.

Third reason is I decided to get all the top tier devices at the same time and do my own comparison for my own use case.

So there lies my history of flipping gear. A foolish waste of money that has brought me much happiness! What the hell, I don’t do drugs, rarely drink and sell air conditioning in South Carolina so it a vice I can afford and is more fun that stuffing $20 in a strippers thong or playing golf.

90% of musicians must be related to you because we all do that :D

I have sold and bought things back more times than I want to admit!

I think I've been through 4 eventide h90's, 6 boss sy-300's, 3 boss sy-1000's etc.. etc.. lol

I assume this is primarily the result of the TGP/Fractal relationship and how it was mostly Fractal users that were run off a little before this forum was opened. TGP is not an inviting place to be for Fractal users, never mind if you’re an enthusiastic Fractal user.
