But what does the solid block inside of a block mean and what does the 4 solid blocks mean?

This means it's a single channel setting. If you apply this to a block, it'll just change the current active channel to match whatever is in the saved file in your library.

This means it's an entire block's worth of settings: all the channels. If you apply this to a block it'll change all the channels in the block to match whatever is in the saved file in your library.

Also what does the (1) and (2) mean? I thought maybe different versions of them but so far haven't hear a difference between them?
It means you saved something with the same name more than one time. And instead of overwriting an existing saved block it appended (1) and then (2) and so on to the saved name.

The blocks with || before and after name doesn't seem to work for me.
The || characters aren't special. They're just what someone who named the block chose to put in the name. Could be the files are corrupt? Or from a firmware so old they don't work in your current firmware? It's hard to say (and one of the tricky parts about using the block library -- especially with other people's blocks).

Thanks so much for the info :D

You would think even if that is the case they would sound different?

Say someone made something with "tape delay" name and someone else did and then now I have original and tape delay (1). They both should sound different if that was the case even if using same name? However these don't seem to sound any different at all between original and (1) and (2) and I never see it go beyond (2)

Someone could easily forget that they had already saved a block and then saved it again, hence the append. I know I have saved the same thing plenty of times before!

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ guess it depends. Maybe it was an accidental double save?

One of the problems with the block library is the save file a block or channel's settings came from is easily lost. So it's super easy to load something up like a saved channel, maybe channel away and then back, this breaks the saved channel association and then you save the channel again as the same name.

That's why I don't really lean on the block library for long term storage of anything.

I know it must be me but more than once I’ve checked my block library and things are missing or it’s empty.

I notice a pattern now. Anything that shows one channel are the ones that seem to have (1) or (2). The ones that have 4 channels never show up with those symbols? Hmm!

Also I am noticing any of the ones that have multiple channels only seem to work for channel A, B, C. Never nothing on channel D except a exact copy of channel C.

I am noticing also a volume bleed going on.

I have my boss vg-800 and boss gm-800 going into IN 3. If the volume is set to -40db which is the lowest it can go, I can still faintly hear my sound and see the sound meter moving on my speakers too. I shouldn't be getting no sound at all.

Just not sure if something going on with fractal or the boss units causing the slight bleed. I would assume it's fractal since that is what it's going into....

Should I report this?

The drop down or the folders on disk?
The drop down shows the most recent blocks I’ve added.
All previous blocks are gone.
On the hard drive the block I had saved from Leon still shows up but only has the most recent blocks.
Leon’s are MIA
