The AxeFx is great, it's a miraculous gas cure, within seconds I know what amps are totally not for me.
I really miss the default user settings from the Helix when comparing amps, some amp defaults are just ridiculous.

The last couple of weeks I've been enjoying the Mercuriall '59 Tweed Bassman plugin. It's harmonically rich and gorgeous.

Why mention this in the Fractal thread?

Well...

I went back to the FAS '59 Bassguy model and it wasn't quite doing it for me, for some reason, even with the same IR I was using with the Mercuriall plugin.

So I decided that the Bassguy model was perhaps biased a little cold. I whacked up the grid bias to 68%* (no chance of wear on these tubes) and there it was! So much better.

For fun I also swapped in 5881 tubes, over the 6L6s; but that isn't really required to get the big improvement that I experienced.

It was an improvement to me anyway; It's a personal taste thing. Maybe you'll enjoy that model stock. ** shrug **

* IIRC, the bias was set to something like 48 or 49% as default.

I haven't tweaked much (that feels odd to type lol) other then making that fusion preset or a simple tiny change here and there but nothing too heavy.

I can't stop playing factory presets and other presets on axe-change or presets I've downloaded from fractal forum lol. I keep finding ones and end up spending 30 mins or something on one just playing and moving on and finding another to do the same!

Really odd to go through since I never had this problem with other devices lol. Usually I hate factory presets on most things!

Most of the tweaking i do are id say ~ 80% in the amp and cab blocks, so powerful !!

I did but I haven't used them yet. I still haven't learned how to upload block library yet.

The IR is free. But I thought the link to the blocks led to a page where you had to pay. Not that it's not worth it though.

The track doubling detune, you can copy the block from the Petrucci preset and save it to your Library for any future use

Don't forget to also copy the controllers block to the library since this TC MIMIQ clone needs those to function as intended.
