Fractal Talk

I wasn't able to pull out the LOUD tube rig last night but I did work with the PVH 6160 amp into my FR12. It was a little wooly and bass heavy. I never boosted it IRL with anything back when I was playing Let's ripoff Lamb of God in a band setting but I am betting it would be a great candidate for a TS. I then went back to my Recto Red and JVM presets and all was right with the world. I should have time to futz with it up LOUD this weekend with any luck :satan

Anyone have any settings they can share when using a tube power amp and cab? I just cannot get my current setup LX-II and vertical Mesa 2x12 to sound good to me. It’s so bass heavy and nasal/high end shrill sounding at the same time. Beyond frustrated. Just trying to get a good 5150 sound. I know it’s user error but when I think I have it right, the next day it’s back to square one.

Play around with the Impedance Curves. While not technically “correct”, these can do a lot at shaping what’s coming out of a cabinet you wouldn’t quite expect.

The compressors have been rewritten and are now excellent, added an 1176, killer dynacomp, etc. Lots of new drives and fuzzes, new ways to tweak said fuzzes, new ways to tweak the delay, updated spring reverb, new univibes. Pretty much the biggest effects update in years….

Oh alright, I guess that’s cool. I suppose a small part of my single patch I use will get a little nicer. 🤣

Have you tried this?

Looks like @deadpool_25 arrived with the following settings in the speaker block

LRF: 119
LRQ: 3
LR: 5.8

But maybe this is old news and how people use to do things pre impedance curve selection
Is that for a 2x12 horizontal or vertical? Would they be the same?

Can someone help me. I'm trying to do some IEM corrective eq using the PEQ blocks but i can't figure out how to enter the Q values using the keyboard? It only lets me change the Q value via the mouse which is a pain.

I kind of ignored the plex delay block for the longest time. I thought of it as a shimmer machine and I got tired of that sound years ago. Tonight I started playing with it and boy was I ever wrong. There’s some stellar stuff in there that I was overlooking. That’s probably about to make it into my main patch for a while…

So @MTB1973 ....

Got some time to play with the FM9 and LX through my V30 2x12 up LOUD. Got some very nice :satan from the PVH 6160 Lead amp model. Speaker thump and drive off, 2x12 Recto impedance curve. No other deep tweaks beyond that. Works great with Depth on on the LX as well as with it off. Output on the FM9 was about 70-80% and output on LX was around 35-40%
