Yeah. I got tired of the constant complaining about the Fractal UI/UX more than a decade ago.
Of course things could be better. And a lot of good and warranted suggestions over the years have not been implemented. I get it! But the constant complaining? As if it is impossible to use Fractal products without a PhD in both signal processing and software development? Fuck off!
I loved my (supposedly difficult, close to impossible) Axe-FX Ultra and I still have my (supposedly difficult, close to impossible ) Axe-FX II. And when I recently got my VP4? Major leaps forward in simple usability. Nice! I think it is perfectly fine to use! Haven't even used the editor yet! Compared to fucking around with my UAFX pedals and their Blutooth apps? Heaven!
The improvements are nice and appreciated. But in a critical situation, I'd rather use Fractal products (with their UI/UX as is) than any of the competitors.
I don't think people complain just because it's fun to complain. They are probably genuinely frustrated with how things work.
Also, I don't think people think it's difficult (or impossible) to use, as in that it's difficult to learn. I think most people complain that it's unnecessarily complicated to do things that could be achieved much easier, quicker and more intuitive. I also think that people have been frustrated that Fractal company (and some fans) have largely ignored these requests in the past, saying that "if you don't like it, get something else" or "it's a professional tool, it's meant to be complicated because it's such a capable device".
Lately however, I feel like this has started to shift. So I am at least cautiously hopeful for the next gen Fractal to improve upon this.
The VP4 for instance was a great step in the right direction.
