Not trolling here, just trying to help problem solve. No it does not need to change, just make a new model, if that is something that needs to be done?
There still is, sometimes I know. Saying otherwise is just wrong
Issue 1: "I've got all these sessions from like the last 8 years that use this plugin and I don't want them to change." On the one hand, I get that. On the other...it seems like at some point not printing the plugin to "tape" is just playing with fire? At some point a project is complete and you've either mixed it or at least generated actual stems for each track and who cares what happens to the plugin, or you've left an unfinished project languish for so long that...is it REALLY that much of a hassle on top of all the other hassles of going back to a project from six years ago if the amps sound slightly different?
Issue 2: "Okay, fine, but what about the real-time projects -- the stuff I thought I was done with so updated and now I actually want to go back and punch in a few more things on that session from 3 months ago?" Solution: swapping firmware generations on a plugin is so.much.easier than hardware. Just roll it back, then roll it forward. Keep an archive of your presets, etc., every time you update firmware.

I don't even know what firmware my Axe III is on and haven't edited anything at all on it in at least 9 months?
