Who says you have to update?
Then don't buy it.
I might, but only if I see ..not a lot of updatesThen don't buy it.
He could also never update the plugin, which is effectively the same as it never being updated at source; just how he wanted it!

I might, but only if I see ..not a lot of updates
I really hope Fractal gets a NAM player (block) option, as it just looks like the amp modeling is changing every few month.
With good NAM captures, the sound would not change at least
Yeah sure, but then you would not get the `new reverbs - delay - amps - useful new stuff.
I hope for a new normal FW option, were new things gets added, but the old sounds stay the same. Sure if there is a bug, fix it. But to "remaster" amps all the time just looks wierd ( from the outside )
Like:
Axe Fx VI gets new engine - and new stuffand after a few years.. sure new engien might be cool
I think folks would be more happy with this, I would. As I got tired of sounds not sounding the same when I had my Axe Fx II after years of FW updates.
So if your presets were the same for a long time, even when getting new stuff....you would be heartbroken??
All im saying is that this is, folks gigging, recording, making music, that is why I use these things. Not to tweak my presets all the time
I have a Unit ( been 5 years) my first good sounding preset still sounds the same. Im happy. But I still have new FW things getting added ( some of the time...) See what I did there? haha.
My presets broke a lot when I had my Axe Fx II.. I was not happy with this. I could stop updating, but then I dont get new stuff
And I will not dip my toe in Fractal land, if this is not changing
This is going to happen to ICONS as well ( I would think), and yes i agree that this the only thing I dont like with Fractal. It sounds really good, I had my unit for over 10 years. Cliff works hard! I`ve seen it for years
I dont get when this is looked at as bitching at all ( presets brake ) It`s a real thing
Do Line6 brake presets?
Do NDSP brake prestes?
Who other do this?
Few years, then maybe update the Amp code, but still make new cool things along the way, adding to the overall divices. Sounds bad? I would say that sounds good for a PRO unit
But it`s not just the Amps, it`s all the things, This is why it gets a bit hairy with presets. I hope it stops, so I get me a AM4![]()
No, Im talking about presets that need tweaking ( not sounding the same, or Volum up or down, CPU up or down, MIX of efx`s changing, BMT) the list is long, that is the problem for me and others
That is smart of you, but... you will have to `change some settings` when you update. And if this have been a while, then stuff will have changed, but what??? You would need to go back and read what he changed, to know what has happend, it get messy ( I think,, and I lived it for years)
I hope it changes in the future (by presets sounding, not altered) And that new stuff gets added (but it`s new stuff)
So this plug-in will get a lot of updates to the amp models/efx`s, just like the Axe Fx III ?
I don`t think its fun to update the sounds of a plug-in that I would use to record music with all the time.
Some see this as a good thing, but.. I don`t. I don`t like it at all
1: Presets will not be like when they were made
2: It`s a lot to keep uo to date with ( with time) , re-select amp models, change this and that

Yeah a `bot`Looks like bot behavior to me, especially since every one of these posts is from the last 2 weeks.

If only installing updates were optional. Some see this as a good thing, but.. I don`t. I don`t like it at all

Thanks!Bot? Maybe OCD, but don't we all?
SeeD never acted like a troll or bot in the past.
I would like to own a Fractal unit again in the future, but not when things change all the time.
Years and years ago we were recording an EP. Had like 60-70% of my rhythm tracks done with the 5150 half stack. Other guitarist came in on a "night off" to the jam spot where we were DIY recording things and proceeded to play through my amp. Didn't like the sound so he twisted a bunch of knobs. Super happy when I found out after the fact and definitely didn't have a undiagnosed person on the spectrum explosion and went back and re-recorded everything I had done up to that pointI do think Seed has some points when it comes to a plugin.
Yeah you don't have to update but what if they add a new effect or amp you want to try? I imagine "audition your presets and make changes as you see fit" is easier in terms of live hardware patches vs you having a specific tone placed in your mix already.
But yes, you do like to repeat this, Seed![]()
Yeah, I care about music making folks that like to have a good new update, with `new stuff`I do think Seed has some points when it comes to a plugin.

Sure, but unfortunately stuff usually needs to change to get cool new stuff.Yeah, I care about music making folks that like to have a good new update, with `new stuff`
Hell even Cliff said he hated when Windows just updated it self... Even without saying yes, restart my computer without my doing it myself, haha!
I had all this stuff open.. but now it`s gone.. He said this things a lot
I guess I don`t like my `stuff` to change, but I love to get new cool stuff.
If only installing updates were optional.

That would be jail time!A lot of it (that I see from various folks) is a combo of this plus the dreaded "I don't want to fix my 192 custom presets" mentality. Which I can actually see the point on, 100%. And which would be the catalyst for me to say "let's move it all down to a single preset"Sure, but unfortunately stuff usually needs to change to get cool new stuff.
As others have said, it might just be that FAS isn't for you. That's part of their thing, a steady stream of updates.
I do think you might be blowing the hardware side of things out of proportion. Again, maybe there were more audible jumps back in the day when you had a fractal device but I don't think they are today. However, as mentioned, I do think you have a point in a plugin specific format
