I wish there was some way to tell if a block had a expression control for it or a ctrl switch. Like a small icon in the box that has either of those to show.
Has anyone made a request for such feature on fractal forum and where can you make requests? I don't recall seeing a dedicated thread for requests over there?
Hell yeah.
No.13 on this list:

Wish - My remaining usability wishes for the current processors
My remaining wishes for usability: Swap Channels (hardware and editor). When editing a block on the hardware, display the CPU meter in the top bar (hardware). Dedicated Vibrato type in the Chorus block (like on the VP4). FreqOut type in Pitch block or Compressor block. Global modifier control...forum.fractalaudio.com
That's our Fractal when it comes to usability stuff.Geez that list is from 2018? So may as well say it's not going to happen for VP4 probably lol.
FM3 can do a LOT still. Both of them together?![]()
Same amps and cabs (other than anything a fw discrepancy would cause). You can blend more cabs in the 9 and III and the FM3 has fixed impedance. I usually am not a fan of that but the FM3 sounds fantastic so I wouldn't worry about that.Do you know if the FM3 amps/cabs are the same as the FM9 / Axefx III? As in same amps/cabs and parameters etc?

Straight up the size of the FM3/9 are what has kept me from trying either. I’m afraid I’ll like them and then I gotta buy an exp pedal, something to mount it all to, blah.
So the FM3We should petition cliff to do amps/cabs in a VP4 enclosure and same price range
Call it AC4 for amps and cabs. Can run 2 amps and 2 cabs.
So the FM3I get what you mean but I think it would be too similar.
I do wish the VP4 had a IR or even better dynacab block
Yeah it would have to be a global option I think. I wouldn't necessarily want to waste a effect block on an IR/cabI have seen people asking for a IR block globally over on the forum, so maybe one day!
If it has Turbo after the name it has more CPU. OG FM3s don't have a headphone out. This is located right below the input jack so be sure to check that out. The Mark II have bigger display text.I am just wondering if the original FM3 is still worth it or the mark II which seems harder to get? And what is the differences between the two... guess I need more googling!
I have an OLD AF OG FM3 and it's great. More CPU is fine but I can run my gigging presets on it quite nicely. If you are mainly wanting amps and cabs and don't want something totally pedalboard engulfing; the OG is fine imo.
