Fractal Audio Systems AM4 - Amp Modeler

As an old man; the level of gear the non-pro player has access to if they are reasonably employed right now is just insane. Absolutely nuts compared to the garbage us geezers had to trudge through back in the day
To a degree -- but can you imagine how depressing it would be to be a broke-ass 16 year old scrolling through reddit or whatever the kids are using for their info these days instead of MF catalog while taking a dump with what's available-and-almost-affordable-but-still-just-out-of-reach today?!?!

Lots of yards to mow and papers to throw

There's still plenty of options that are way better than when I started. Like maybe you pick a Hotone Ampero 2 Stomp and have pretty great tones. Or something even cheaper in a Tonex One, Valeton etc.

If you're really broke...I wish kids at least bought say a Peavey Bandit rather than a freakin' Fender Frontman.

There's a high probability that it's going to be native plugin, or not going to be.

I'm sure that stuff all seems a lot like a hot-pink DOD Thrash Metal Distortion pedal to those kids. i.e., "This thing SUCKS man!!!!!"

Huh? That shit stopped around here more than 30 years ago! First the do-gooders decided it was child labor, so they switched from kids on bikes to old guys in cars, then all the people who bought papers died off.
My dad, who is 86, still wants his newspaper. It costs him nearly $1,200/yr to get a paper 6 days a week. Now the post office delivers them. The paper is about 1/5th the size I remember from when I was a kid, and the 3-4 local stories are at least 2 days old by the time it gets to his mail box. But there's still plenty of snow to shovel and grass to mow.
