Fractal Audio Systems AM4 - Amp Modeler

Lets Go GIF by Regal

I like my AM4 so much, I:
1) Have sold my FM9T
2) Am selling my TMP (ok, I was going to sell it anyway)
3) Canceled my Stadium pre-order (but yeah, the potential divided resources on their side influenced that).

I may add a VP4 for the rare times when I want complex signal chains, but I'm delighted with the AM4. I'm not saying it's the "best" modeler. That doesn't exist. But it's the one for me.

I agree it’s a killer box , I have a stadium pre ordered , I have a friend who picked up his XL here in Canada in November , great player I took my AM4 over this weekend and as good as the stadium workflow was , I still felt at 1/3 the price the AM4 models sounded better especially Marshall’s and hi gain stuff
The Stadium XTC and Revv were slightly better than perhaps the AM4 versions but then you just Switch to the FAS Stealth or Splawn and I much preferred those to any of the Helix models

I know I was only playing through it for a few hours and I will admit it felt better than a Helix but to me I felt most of the time in development was the bells and whistles focus view XY hype

I felt there was more progress on the UI than the core Agoura models , the cleans and edge of breakup tones I thought were the most noticeably improved

Definitely , would like to spend more time with it

I'm about to sell my FM9 and get an AM4. I really don't need more 90% of the time. For the few instances I do, I can add external pedals. I was on the verge of buying a Stadium XL but had the realization I want compact and simple these days.

And frankly IMO with the demo I got of stadium today , albeit short
I much preferred the AM4

After a few weeks with it, I love the AM4...

...and I ain't about to sell my III/FC12 combo. More is more.

I've had a couple weeks with it now as well and all I can say is...Wow...I am so frickin happy with this thing! :pickle

Was trying to build a preset for my hybrid acoustics using the Tube Pre and had it sounding pretty good, but with a bit more growl than I liked, so I decided to try the 59 Bassman just for giggles and holy crap, it sounds killer. Dynacab and all. I like a lot of thump for solo shows and this does it without muddying up the high end.

Have my electrics sounding great through my CLR now as well...just really really pleased with it and have to say thanks again to Brock and all of the kind folks that offered suggestions when I was wondering if it was going to work for me.

Figuring it out has been good for my brains too.

I'm not sure how they could pull it off, but I'd love to see the implementation of the matching Dyna Cab to amp model as default settings in the other units.

I’m actually having a hard time finding AM4 videos that showcase more of the obscure, heavier amps that I’m interested in. Looking up FM3/9 or big rack boy demos just seems daunting.

Pure 1st world problems…

I've struggled with most of the AM4 and VP4 videos I've watched. I haven't really liked most of the sounds. I think the units probably sound great and I just don't really like the tones dialed in by the people demoing them.
