FWIW I’m finding the boost in the amp block to be pretty effective. Obviously you have to use a block if you want fuzz or a specific distortion, but I think that amp block boost covers most of the ground I need.

Yes it pretty clever actually , because a large part of the boost the amp crowd is not looking for extra gain but more the tone shaping ,of basically having the gain off and level cranked
So it’s nice not to have to use a drive box for that to hit like a Recto hard and tighten the lows
