Fractal Audio Systems AM4 - Amp Modeler

Put the pedals in one of the FM9 loos and have that as the first thing in the FM9 signal path.

The AM4 loop is a fixed analog loop after the digital-to-analog conversion but before the balanced outputs. Its purpose is to provide allow you to still use the balanced outs of the AM4 even when using additional pedals post instead of needing to include a DI box in that scenario.
Even though you'd have to use an audio interface to record, it's actually cool because there's no additional AD there. Well, I guess it's a wash, depending on your interface's latency.

Second bullit point
My question was basically if it still had the stripped down "TS, FAS Boost, etc." style OD's in the amp block, saving a slot if all you wanted was the typical "volume up, drive down" type boost you'd use with a Recto, for example. I realize now there's additionally an output boost too, but that appears to be more of a post amp clean boost (which is cool too).

I was just reading this thread, still in bed and murky because UPS delayed my AM4 shipping to January 2nd when suddenly the door bell rang. Why is it so hard to put on trousers when you're in a hurry? I yelled at the kids to open the door, almost missed the UPS guy. Now I'm waiting for DHL and two new guitars (on is for a friend) to arrive. It started to snow. Feels like Christmas on New Year's Eve. Merry Christmas and happy new year to all of you.

I can't tell if this is a AM4 issue or if it's just me.

My headphones work fine on my AI and other items, however when I plug them into the AM4, the output seems to favor the right side. Enough that it just sounds off. Is this to be expected? I know the AM has a different headphone input.

I just want to make sure there isn't anything wrong with my unit 😂

I saw someone else mention this
I am guessing you have looked at settings but there is this

  • Audio Balance/Pan settings: The AM4 allows for adjusting the audio balance within presets. Navigate to the Output block in your preset's mixer page or check the overall SETUP > Audio settings. Ensure the balance slider or pan settings are centered and not favoring one channel.

Works fine for me. Maybe try inserting the jack a few times repeatedly, could be a contact issue or your tinnitus kicking in.:grin

Thank you! Those settings are correct (I didn't know about them so definitely glad I double checked). Maybe setting the output to stereo :columbo

I’ve had no such issues with mine.

Thinking of getting one? Do it now or else you'll be twiddling your thumbs waiting... (source: email from fractal).

I got my order in today, with no indication that they are not in stock. Glad I made it. I am already listing my TMP for sale, and depending on how things go with the AM4, I may do the same with my FM9T. I do have a Stadium coming as well (when they are released).
