Fractal Audio Systems AM4 - Amp Modeler

Did you try to mess with the input impedance with each one?
Not yet. That’s why I asked the other day where to find it lol

That said seeing that it’s on auto and it’d be straight before the amp that shouldn’t make a difference to what I’d expect.

But the issue was that I have to hate the snot out of it

I'm really appreciative of Fractal's Mesa representation, particularly the Mark series. I've been playing around with the IIC+ a lot. I butchered some Hetfied Black Album riffs and ran a single take on each side for fun.

Sounds great i have really been digging the Mark V
In the AM4 as well if you are a Mesa guy definitely a tone of choices

Yeah the only bummer of it is that the modulations are all separate blocks. Otherwise it’d be cool if there was a “modulation” block that you could do chorus, phaser, flanger for example.

Yup. I think of blocks like this because I’m used to Helix. Definitely my error.

I sometimes use the delay block plus its channels as a multi modulation block. It does great for chorus, flanger, and vibrato.

D

It's not my kind of tone really, and I'm pretty sure I prefer the MKIV, MKV and MKVII over the II.... but... this is what the Stadium should've sounded like out of the box.

Is this the "crunchberry" settings you mentioned before

Are you not getting on with your stadium? I've not kept up with the stadium threads

Received AM4 just in time before Christmas.
This is exactly how I wanted FM3 to be.
First Fractal unit (first one being Axe FX2) that I do not need to see manual AT ALL.
Everything is so well laid out, even a monkey can operate this.

Well done Fractal, they will sell shitloads of these (think they already have)!

Next time I have AM4 Edit up I’ll throw a preset in the preset thread, but it’s really nothing special. IIRC it’s:
Bass: 1
Mids: 5
Treble: 8
Presence: 4.5
Volume 1: 7.5
Overdrive: 6
Vol bright: on
Lead bright: on
Treble shift: off

The same sort of “bass low & treble high” strategy you use for tight tones on a Mark.

GEQ cranks the 80hz slider 7-8 db and yanks the 750 maybe 7-8 db. Mesa 4x12 with 421 & a ribbon. Dial the drive to taste but you start losing articulation if you go too high.

Nice! Sounds awesome. What guitar did you use? Have you compared against the Stadium IIC+?

THIS is how you dial in a Mark IIC+. Almost exactly how I would dial one in when I was gigging.

Turning the bass almost all the way down and cranking the treble is key.

Yep it is amazing and has pretty much become the product of the season IMO
Also with a quiet launch , no hype and buildup and virtually bug free on launch
