Fractal Audio Systems AM4 - Amp Modeler

I received my AM4 a couple days ago. I've owned and sold every Fractal unit there has been. Well except my lowly Axe Fx Std I've owned since the beginning. I'll take that one to my grave... The AM4 is the product of the year imo and as mentioned in the video above. I love this little pedal. I don't find 4 blocks restricting at all.. Kudos Cliff and co. You knocked it out of the park with this unit..

^^^Nice.

Its a ripper! Hoping Cliff @ 63 isn't getting soft...

...Axe-Fx IV confirmed!

funding secured

Yep yep yep. My journey has been FM3 -> FM9 -> Axe-FX III Turbo -> AM4.

The happiest I've been is with the AM4. Weird eh?
ECHO... Echo... echo...

IV confirmation with multi-channel digital I/O... even in "add-on" form...

I'll surrender some of the above.

AM4 stays, though.

Mein hands... they're cold... GFY!!! :ROFLMAO:

Sorry if I threw it off.

Just ready to roll... happily rolling.

Have sunk a few.

It amazing and the 4 blocks IMO
Is not an issue for me
Less time building kitchen sink presets w stuff I never use but add because you can
Totally agree. It keeps you focused on making solid presets. If I ever need to get crazy I can use the VP4 with it, but honestly haven't even run them together yet!

There's a part of me that thinks I'd be happier with an AM4 and a VP4 instead of the FM9T I have. I guess there's one way to find out...

But then I also already have a TMP and a GT-1000CORE, with a Stadium on order.

I had am FM9 sold it and I am just as happy w AM4 maybe more so
I also have regular stadium on order for Jan / Feb but the AM4 is so freaking good and convenient I might just get a guitar

The Brit 800 seems to have some extra juice. I usually run the MV low and goose it with a SD1 to get a "leaner" gain sound vs letting the power amp get me the distortion. I can keep the gain lower and even the SD1 lower and still get some great high gain tones.

Not sure if anything changed but it was a nice surprise

There's a Gary Moore lead preset in there with the 800 I think, just a few small tweaks and it's :chef.

Now just give it the good ole Jose saturation mod

Another interesting thing that I just picked up in a Jay Parmar video that he was doing is putting up the bias to 70%
Some of the Amps like 5153 he was using are biased cold around 47%
The range from 50 to 60 is considered cold to moderate 65 to 70% hot
I don’t do too much deep editing but I have to admit turning up the bias you could hear the effect
I think on Marshall’s and EL34s it would be especially noticeable

I like the Brit JVM OD1 and the JS410 Lead for the SD1 -> 2203 vibe.
