You are assuming things that I don't think are true. Compare G66 marketing to Fractal marketing and it's pretty obvious that they are doing their own thing to market Fractal products in their territory. Those are G66 sponsored videos, with G66 guests, G66 content, and G66 editing. I would bet Fractal had no involvement at all.

Sorry', i should've made myself clear: the point is not that Fractal "has no involvement at all" (which i don't know if it's true), the point is that they should. Again, we're not talking individual retailers here; G66 is the user-facing arm of Fractal for all of Europe. I'd be shocked if Fractal does not have some contractual say on how G66 markets their products.

Having said that, my pet peeve with G66 is not their promotional videos - some of those are actually quite good - but their excessive price markups, which they get away with because no one else gets to sell Fractal in the old world.

Man, i'm vexed, because my (regular) Helix Stadium order is already in... but i've been GASing for the AM4 ever since the original announcement. In many ways it's the device i really wanted when i got a FM3.

He didn't mention Line 6 or Helix Stadium, he just said that other device that are much more expensive than the AM4 don't even have gapless switching.

I like the unit. I also like the Stadium. I even think G66 is a fine company in every other regard. Where else should I complain about some Youtube guy who ruined my morning if not on the interwebs? That's all I wanted to do. Maybe I should get back to pedals and amps.

Btw, does the AM4 work well as an interface without the need for manual recording offsets and stuff?

Because the fm3 has been partly marketed for its use as an audio interface, but the offset issue has been pointed out 738293 times.

At the start, I didn't even know why my guitars record like dog shit, before realizing what's going on. I just thought my sense of rhythm got worse, as it some times does.

Is that ok with the AM4?

Well, I’ve finally moved up in the world and can hang with the cool cats: listed and (very quickly) sold my HX Stomp to fund my next Final Piece of Gear I Will Buy™.

Looking forward to February and news on the EU waitlist. @Ed DeGenaro ’s output is not relieving me of GAS! Wicked stuff man!

Mind that I’m still very content with the Helix stuff but I’m looking forward to exploring both FAS tones on the potential AM4 and also plugins in general on the computer. Unless some really big news drops on NAMM of course.

We have no involvement or control over G66's marketing.

They hired a new marketing guy and he's too aggressive IMO. I can ask them to tone it down but ultimately they control their content.

Not on my behalf As noted, i actually kinda like the video walkthroughs et all G66 puts out on a regular basis.

Pricing, though... i know that's a WAY more nuanced topic, but G66s markups go from excessive to downright unexcusable sometimes.

I'm tired of fighting with them over that. I've tried, repeatedly, to get them to reconsider their markup, to no avail.

If I were younger I would start our own distribution center over there but that's a big project and at this point in life more hassle than I care for.

For my needs it's still great value at 755 €. But that's ~20% more than the US list price - before taxes and S/H.

I do feel your pain Canada was ugly to $1200 but that is not FAS issue and frankly still well worth it
