Fractal Audio Systems AM4 - Amp Modeler

Played this WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too fucking fast.

BUT.

It's pretty good testament to the FAS synth capbilities. Tracking mode set to guitar. I could actually play notes simulatenously in certain fretboard areas without farting out. Pretty impressive! I need to work on my compressor dialing skills (AKA finding some skills) and then bust out the metronome at about a 20bpm reduction :ROFLMAO:

Love this

Freaking great music Ed, as always!
And the animated Ed is awesome, I hope you keep exploring that outlet from time to time.

Regarding the evil of AI, in the spirit of playing Devils advocate to all the hate it gets, I’d love to know if there is an AI drum app or plug in that takes what Logic Drummer does to new level.

Im guessing it has some way to prompt it to generate grooves per specified measures/ tracks and then you can tweak it more to alter characteristics of what it comes up with initially? Anyone have recommendations?

I usually come up with a guitar part and think ‘this could be a song’ and then try to use Superior Drummer and have played around with JamStix too but I’m too impatient and/or ignorant to get much satisfaction from it. Too tedious.

I’m not going to publish anything so I don’t think I would be hurting the world by using AI for this. And I’ve bought plenty of Drum machines, both hardware and ‘digital’ so my conscious is clear if AI ends up curbing that portion of my spending.
I actually tried your idea today.
I fed the guitar/keyboard thing in, and had it create drums, the bass as per usual was ok until stem seperation.
The drums were ok, but I stacked Superior sounds on.
Then I recorded the bass and printed a second reamped path with the AM4. Love the bass tones I get from it.

Also really digging that hybrid work flow.

Here is where the work in progress is at.
Reused a prior vids footage.

Sounds good! Reminds me of Intervals.

That is amazing work!
The arranging is as tasty as the playing!

At around 1:20 you are mixing what sounds like I guess you could call it staccato stabs of chords mixed with the syncopation on the muted strings. Forgive my uneducated description of it, hopefully you catch the meaning. How did you get that sound on the chord part of that?!? Is it a smear of modulation or pitch? What ever it is it’s like the perfect icing on cake. So damn good!

Let’s call it an old man’s attempt to remain current. Although I’m not trying to sell any of this I’m just doing it cause doing what I do keeps me sane and away from the bottle.

Also I use the current stuff for teaching purposes.

I was basically doing a NDSP/Strandberg artist tune lol, I was thinking WWTHD what would Tim Henson do. lol

Can you get me a better time stamp?
What you’re describing is that Ichiko, Manuel Fernandez, Tim Henson muted, tap, slide thing but that’s at like 0:50.
At 1:20 there’s nothing like that.

Now for something comepletely different: Why is Bernd Klitz such a douche? Just saw a youtube short where he brags about gapless switching on the AM4 (which comes with its own limitations). It's OK that they (G66) show, what this amazing unit can do but why on earth does he have to sideswipe L6? That's just bad style. Also that whole G66/AM4 buying experience whas strange as they even advertised the AM4 AFTER I decided to buy it. The thing I really appreaciate(s) about L6/DI is that they'd never say something bad about competition (unless its a ripoff). That short video almost made me return the AM4. FAS is making great stuff, just let it speak for itself.

Isn't that just the Fractal way? Remember the Tonemaster Pro launch? Or waaaay back when the Kemper launched.
