It is fairly long stretch. The AM4 was a great pivot that will keep the current fires burning, I'd think?
"next gen" is kind of a misnomer at this point. The new one will do more things in different ways. Any sonic differences will be no more/less than whatever the next firmware update might have been on the "previous gen". What's a sonic difference on a firmware update you ask? Oh, well that's when...

Bring on the IV.....

The sounds continue to be so good it's like splitting the world's tiniest hairs.

I’m on a launch version FM9 and constantly hit the CPU cap as I like having the delay block, Multi-Tap delay, and Plex delay all available in my presets. I use all 3 regularly. I’ve considered going with a III, but if the IV is coming soon, I’d rather wait for it.

Super for folks that don`t need more blocks. But I like to use 2 amp blocks, and that is a no go on the AM4
And I would like a Capture option on divice

Option to make captures or just run them?

I've used a tonex one replacing fractal sims and gotten good results that way.

Low cost, top level accuracy, and it allows you to use snapshots of your own amps within fractal units, among others.

I like both, but I read that Cliff said NAM player option would come in new Hardware, if and when that happens

I imagine a FAS capture utility would be really good given the insane horsepower available, I'd only buy it if you could use as many as you want like quad cortex. it would be cool if you could have a pedal in the loop and it can run a utility to eq match it and copy the distortion, when it's easy to use it will get used alot. I sold qc because models are crap but kept kemper cause it's so fast. it's a good thing afx3 holds value so well tho to fund the new one
