"Everyone using 'x' tool sounds the same". Another knowledge nugget dropped by Fricker

The AI bullshit has gotten me to STOP watching anything on ancient civilizations/pyramids/temples on Youtube. Youtube was flooded with BS videos about this stuff already, but once the low effort crew started using AI to pump out videos it’s so saturated with shitty content it’s not even worth infecting your feed by letting one play for more than a minute.
Don't forget the new "spiritual side of physics" gurus and chiropractors calling themselves doctors and giving out obscenely invalid vaccine and health advice.

It pains me these types have millions of subscribers.

When you consider how much gear it would require to recreate everything in the Axe FX, it really is a solid bargain.

But that’s a false comparison unless you would have bought everything to do what it can as an alternative, and it also ignores other digital options.

For most young musicians, $2500 is out of reach, especially when you add the other gear you need to go with it.

Maybe the AxeIII. But my FM9T was much cheaper than just the board I sold after getting it, not even counting amps.

For young musicians, they’ve never had it better. There’s no shortage of cheaper stuff by Line 6, BOSS, etc that sounds amazing.

Not watching anything from that windbag.

Some plugins, IR’s, drum packs etc. get hot and pop up on a lot of things in certain genres, but half the recorded history of rock has been some blackface Fender, Plexi or 800. They didn’t have any problem differentiating themselves with those few amps and cabs of the time. There was drastically less gear at their disposal and they had no issues finding a way to be unique.

I don’t pluck a note on the AxeFx and think “I sound like everyone else”… I think… “you really have no more excuses dude” :ROFLMAO:

Eh, i think Fractal gear is amazing - and pretty much unmatched when it comes to effects. But no $2,500 rack gear is "bang for the buck".
It mosdef isn’t in EU were with current exchange rate and VAT it’s $3550.

I could buy a H90, and loaded Kemper Player and have and pay rent for 2 month lol

Or get a used H9000. And that’s all there to be said for processing power.

Was there less gear? In total sure.
But the reality is that the majority of what exist are variations on a few themes (which were used on the classic albums).

And that’s largely the same in digital.
I mean what’s the amp of the month this time? Friedman Jose? Like that doesn’t perfectly portray it.
And we already got capture packs, in addition to other guys Jose mods.
Obviously the modelers ain’t gonna be far behind.
And we also have the usual YouTuber already flogging low wattage boutique builders ding Jose.

As I said earlier buckers vs SC, IRs those are the big same makers.

But let’s not pretend most guitarists are looking for anything but community approved tones.
Because every time some oddball comes up the pile on happens.
“Get the pitch forks Henry Kaiser released a weird album” yet he was guitar buddies with Shawn Lane. Jus sayin.
