Dream Theater Megathread NEW SONG POSTED!!!!!

Oh I hope not! That song is about as disjointed to me as you think TSMI is! :rofl

Fortunately, since I saw them for DT40, once PS is played, I can leave!! You cannot. :rofl(You could arrive late though. Or who knows; hearing it live my just change your mind. :sofa)

A wasted what, 23 minutes, that could be filled with any 2 of so many other better songs, with room left over: As I Am, Endless Sacrifice, Home, The Root of All Evil, On The Backs of Angels, Innocence Faded, Fall Into The Light (Dat SOLO :chef), In The Name of God, Just Let Me Breathe, Trial of Tears, Lines in The Sand, Scarred, Stream of Consciousness..., just to name a few off the top of my head!

Maybe they're rotate in 2 different songs every 2 nights like they did on the previous leg, and I'll miss it. :grin

Bro, you’re that hardcore of a DT fan but will simulataneously take “As I Am” over “ACOS”?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Now I REALLY gotta get tickets for the Orlando show.

Though, the 2nd to last time I saw them they played it, but that was at the Live Scenes From NY show and I barely had facial hair them.

True. I wonder how well he’ll handle that one. How did he do when they played all of Images & Words a few years ago?
I can't speak to that tour, but the 40th anniversary was pretty good overall. Tbh, it's only in videos where I actually hear some cringe parts of his singing. Live, it must just go right past me.

I’ll dig on that when I get home later.

Shit, I need to check out the ticket situation with their Orlando show!

So their big reveal was putting James into a soundproof room off by himself. I approve.

“Sounding good over there, James!…”

I suspect they're doing this to spur ticket sales. Plenty of seats still available in places near venues they hit during DT40.
Shit, there's still 3 front-row seats available at Nassau Coliseum.

The tour for Parasomnia finally starts tonight, and these are the seats still unsold in the center section. Wow!
And tix in the first 8 rows are STILL over $300!

I wonder if they're regretting doing a 40th anniversary tour, instead of just going right out in support of the new album.

I'm just psyched they haven't cancelled Baltimore (it's not as bad), cuz I'll BE THERE!! SO looking forward to hearing the new album!! (Which incidentally, is what I thought I'd hear when I bought tickets to the March show in DC.)

I did see a Labor Day sale where they dropped some prices in a venue I looked at. They should've just let that sale continue. I mean, if they're not cancelling any shows, then at this point, just get asses in the seats to help defray the costs.

Fakkkk, the show is next Friday in Orlando. I’d have to take the day off and get a hotel room, while also needing to find someone to take Echo for the night. Actually…..I might be able to swing this and stay at a friend’s house just outside Orlando, I gotta see what her level of lunacy is currently sitting at.

Well, I watched most of the videos early this morning from last night's opener in PA, and FFS LaBrie is off so bad! He is flat on SO many notes, and he "glisses" into his pitches where it just doesn't sound right.

I don't get what's wrong. He was perfect in that Ernie Ball video they just put out. Is it that he can't hear on stage like when he was in the iso booth? Cuz he can obviously still nail the notes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And holy fucking shit was Portnoy's clock off! If I didn't know he was clean and sober, I'd have thought he did some lines before the show! The very last 32nd note run in The Shadow Man Incident, Portnoy is doing a fill, and speeds it up, and it seemed like Trooch had to compensate by rushing through it to stay with him on the downbeats.

I'd be like, "Dude! Yeah, I can play this shit at that speed, but when you suddenly speed up, that's a little harder!" :rawk:rawk

But anyway, I'm still very much looking forward to tonight's show!

JP played this amazingly gorgeous green sparkly 8 string Majesty for the opening track, and he used a Spice Melange on Dead Asleep (drop Bb.)

Ya know on Rock Discipline when Petrucci suggests setting the metronome to a speed you know you're going to bomb on and "just killing yourself"? Portnoy's just helping him get faster. :rofl
