ok! Yes, basically what these cabs emulate (AIRD from BOSS and Celestion Plus) is the sensation when playing on a real speaker. The interaction between the amplifier and the speaker.

Hello, the difference is felt by touch, not so much in the sound. A real speaker is not static, besides giving you an "eq" it responds in different ways to different ways of playing, you have dynamics. In the IR the dynamics does not exist it is only EQ. That's basically the difference, and when you play with a "FRFR", the dynamics are very different from playing with a real cab.

Fullrange systems put out the sound of a miced cab. It's a different sound altogether.

If you have the means, try making your own impulse responses of a real miced cab. You will find that they sound and feel very close vs listening to the miced signal directly.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion! yes, i make my own impulses, and honestly the helix sounds unbelievable in a real box with celestion v30 for example. For me it is my best combination, helix + real cab. When I use the "flat" IRs on the "FRFR" it doesn't respond the same way, the tone is very similar but I can't get the "FRFR" to respond the same way, the actual cab compresses and rounds the sound in a way that I love, but I'm testing how to achieve that feeling that the real cab gives. I understand that the powercab does this job very well, the speaker mode is excellent, and I want to achieve that with my "FRFR". That it sounds like a real cab and not a miked one. I'll see if I can make it

The quality of your output system matters, but ultimately a highly directional guitar cab that chops off a ton of high end just by standing off-center will not sound the same as a fullrange system that tends to be less directional. I think treating them as two things is going to be better than trying to replicate how your cab sounds in the room.

Didn't want to say it myself, but yeah, we haven't heard anything that gives us the slightest bit of pause on our new cab methodology. There's a lot of hype out there and if a company says "there's more dynamics," it'll make you expect to hear more dynamics... which means you'll actually think there's more dynamics... which means you'll tell others there's more dynamics. Marketing can be powerful. <looking at you, [name redacted]>

But sound is imminently measurable. When über-expensive, ultra-sensitive measurement tools can't measure something, it simply doesn't exist, crystal lattices and $20,000 IEC cables be damned. Igor's video on psychoacoustics should be revisited often.

Didn't look up Two Notes statements, but Celestion is explicitely claiming that there's some sort of dynamic behaviour.

That reads as DynIR being "dynamic" in the same sense Fractal DynaCabs and Helix 3.50 are: "By static, we mean that they have only one mic, only on one speaker, that only in one position and have no other parameters for you to tweak."

Sneaky. Then again, i tried Two Notes cab sims in the past and always found them to sound great.
