Likewise - I’ve been really busy with work the past couple years so playing time diminished. I’m really looking forward to showcase so I can make the stadium my practice tool with backing tracks and then also learning to master the looper.

I’ve been playing for almost 30 years but I don’t sound like it….. I can sing reasonably and consequently my lazy side has allowed me to stagnate on both vocals and guitar. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking with it :) i held my own in a cover band for a while (I did backing vocals occasionally and was the only guitarist) which was great fun but if I was earning a living from it I’d have starved to death by now. For me, it’s for fun and not a race. If I’m better next year than I am this year whilst enjoying th journey that will absolutely do. If I play live again that would be great but if not, I’ll live. It’s my fun time and completely different to the day job (that funds the guitar habit).

I used to write and record a few songs but haven’t actually written anything since before Covid. A few of the things I wrote back then were kind of based on sounds that fell out of the guitar whist I was playing around and then attached to something on my mind. I’m hoping that a new effects box will kick my creative side up the arse and get me back there. We will see. Beyond that, I’m looking forward to teaching my daughter’s boyfriend the little bits of music theory I know before he goes zooming past me and teaches me stuff - he’s a nice guy and I enjoy playing guitar together with him. Being able to load a backing track into this thing and enjoying ourselves together is something I’m really looking forward to.

Seven new Agoura channels drop with 1.2.
Thank you - I knew about the 3 amps / 7 channels thing but please accept my apology on the 1.1 / 1.2 confusion.

Thanks for the heads up.
I personally wouldn’t jump on the first to buy bandwagon .
I’ll put money on this thing having loads of teething problems 😳
Why would you think this?

I owned Line 6 products many years ago (I had an original Pod Pro, a Bass Pod, a Pod XT and one of the original Variax). On the Yamaha side of things, I’ve owned a Pacifica (one of the best budget guitars you could imagine back in the day) plus another guitar lost to memory that I regret selling. All were rock solid.

These guys are literally holding up the launch so that they can fix as many teething issues as possible by having 1.1 ready when us first-batch folks get them. Will they have caught everything? No. It’s software. Will it be robust enough for 99% of us? I think it will. I am basing this on the fact they are *holding it up till it’s ready*. That, to me, says that the product team have a significant voice in this compared with the sales team who (I’m sure) would like them out in the wild as of yesterday.

Can you tell me more about why you’d ’put money on it having loads of teething problems’. I miss things all the time and I’d appreciate it if you could help me to understand your logic in coming to this conclusion.

There really is no need to be 1st… they will be everywhere in 6 months anyhow. And waiting to see progress isn’t a “bad” thing as it’s a lot of $
Plus mf runs these coupons a few times a year

Anyone who perceives Stadium as "Helix +" has been living in a cave.

It's probably going to be a while before Stadium adds effects that won't also be added to Helix/HX boxes, so if that's their arbiter of whether or not Stadium is appreciably different, they're going to have a bad time. I'd also consider that gatekeeping.

Yeah I really don’t get how some people, including a particular hot-tub lover, can say “it’s not going to be much different than Helix for at least a year…”. :facepalm

Thanks for the heads up.

And this is another insane take.

Like Line6 hasn’t proven itself over the past 10 years with Helix, Helix LT and all the launches of HX Stomp, HX Effects, HX Stomp XL, POD Go, etc.

You must have Line6 confused with NDSP.

Being leery of a piece of music gear because it's made by Yamaha of all companies is so alien to me.
Is that what he was implying - that now that they are “owned” by Yamaha that there will be teething problems? That’s a non-issue because as DI pointed out - these are still designed and built just like they ever were.

And it's been more than 10 years since this happened 😂

And Yamaha are renowned for shoddy work...smfh

That's how I took it, but maybe not.

I've seen multiple people say things like this lately, or be worried that support won't be good "now that Yamaha owns Line 6". It's odd for the obvious reasons (Helix doesn't predate Yamaha owning Line 6), but also weird because Yamaha has generally excellent support, especially re: servicing and such. I don't really understand where this stuff comes from. Coming from both guitar and keys angles, I'd trust Yamaha over, say, Roland any day.

I think there is some degree of people wanting this product to fail or not be worth it for various reasons (invested in competing products, not wanting to pay to upgrade to the next gen, etc). Weird imo

Yamaha has owned line 6 for over a decade.

Yamaha is known for producing high quality products, and so is Line 6.

Dave just won’t buy it because he is buried in Behringturd pedals like an episode of hoarders. He has stacks of Behringturd pedals 7 feet high. He had to carve a walkway from his front door to his couch so he can sign for new Behringturd deliveries.

“Can’t be buyin’ a Line 6 Stadium, mate — I’ve already got a bleedin’ pile o’ Behringturd stompboxes an’ a bunch o’ dodgy Chinese knock-off guitars clutterin’ up me flat!”
