I didn’t know that set existed and I have to try it at least once now!I know this is all tongue in cheek, but the Martin Tony Rice strings are grrrrrrrreat for a dryer, less zingy bluegrass sound.

I’m looking forward to my top aging a bit like yours - that stark white spruce is jarring hahaKinda like mine, which has been rock-solid over 10+ years of steady gigs.
Congratulations, it's a beauty!

Whenever my wife loves a guitar it’s like the blessing from the heavens to seize the moment and get it hahaCongrats on the Martin!
This is a timely post. I was just in the acoustic room at my local GC and my wife was loving a D28 I played on for a few minutes. Starting to set sights on a potential D28 purchase this summer.
I miss mine looking new like yours. Grass is always greener I guess, especially in the guitar world!I’m looking forward to my top aging a bit like yours - that stark white spruce is jarring haha
Is that an OMC?I miss mine looking new like yours. Grass is always greener I guess, especially in the guitar world!
It's a 2009 custom OOOC16RGTE AURA. Custom for one reason only - no pick guard! Seriously! Is that an OMC?
That looks great! Congrats on making it your own!!
Awesome! Glad to see I'm not the only one around here obsessed with getting better as a player!![]()
Not to hijack, but I was very surprised to talk with elderly music this morning and be totally shut down trying to haggle on a 2025 D28 Standard. They would not budge off the sticker price. They used to be notorious for knocking off 30-40% if you called a sales guy.
So much for chasing a Martin. I guess I’ll wait a year and see if they change their tune.
Bummer.
