They should have just added "poweramp and cabinet emulation" to the MetalZone and called it good

If you're using Logic, I am guessing you're on a Mac. Did you download the Mac drivers? The manual recommends itI have mine…and after two days it is already boxed up to return. It does just what it looked like it does, sound quality good, etc. The concentric knobs and minuscule labeling of amps etc are a pain
The USB driver isnt showing a dry through and yet wants to include the dry with the processed. Or at least that’s what it sounds like, Not sure it isn’t user error but there are no options to control those paths so why would this device suddenly make LogicX behave that way? No manipulation of input monitoring in LogicX makes it better.
overall the amp sims are adequate but not GT1000 level.
i thought I loved how small it is but it turns out it’s too small, the IR200 would be big enough but amp sims no better. So for price of the IR200 I ordered a used GT1000 Core…my third one…lesson learned….again…

I don't think I looked there to see if anything was off. I just received the RA and already boxed it up so that mystery will have to linger and haunt me. Anyone finding my opinion on this should make note that it could be my fault regarding the USB in LogicXDid you, by any chance, check the Audio-MIDI-Setup? Have a look at what the audio mixer says.
I hadn't seen anything that demonstrated it would be decent for high gain stuff until this just popped up in my feed.
"The EQ knobs seem to have a big effect on the tone so maybe more like the Kemper post-EQ, as opposed to original amp tone stacks?"
The GT1000 amps are this way as well.
Dang I was recently thinking about a "clean amp", direct pedal solution to run my pedals into, (simplifier, Tech 21's and the like), and I forgot about the little BOSS!
I kind of want to build a pedalboard around something like this. Nice to hear some positive experiences with it!
I'm sorry to hear you have given up on it. (I may too.) I plan to replace the missing high frequency with an EQ to see if it restores the harmonics. If that works, then I will attempt a tone match with a ToneX version of the BE100 and import it to the IR slots so it is baked into the pedal.
I am not completely hopeful and anticipate that restoring the HF content will also raise the noise floor considerably. However there is something undeniable about the response and feel of it.
The boss IR pedals are cool but probably around the quality of the zoom models I already have. I am interested in any of these small pedals that can improve my results/inspiration.
WTF. I can’t begin to understand this reasoning. BTW, both are SB in tone.I honestly haven't used the IR-X much so it's on my list of things to sell. The IR-2 to me will be a really useful practice tool to run with a couple pedals into my Fender FR-12.
One thing, I'm not super comfortable leaving the IR-X on for long periods of time as there is a tube and higher voltage. But leaving a Boss pedal that takes 1/5 the power (or less) doesn't bug me at all.
Good lord, you’re talking to me, with this post, as my tone is the HX OCD into a clean amp.HX Stomp OCD model into IR-2 on Clean sounds awesome! It's really close to a high gain amp, about as good a pedal into clean amp that I've heard. I have an MXR that's supposed to be an OCD clone so curious to try that into the IR-2 later on.
I leave my IR-D on for days sometimes. No issues.I honestly haven't used the IR-X much so it's on my list of things to sell. The IR-2 to me will be a really useful practice tool to run with a couple pedals into my Fender FR-12.
