Boss GT-1000 (and possibly other things Boss...)

But apparently you have never been using, say, a Helix Floor. Or a Quad Cortex. Or even just a simple Ampero. Otherwise you'd see just how bad the GT's UI is in comparison.
Nope, never, only on youtube reviews. But Boss have small cheap & handy enough screen. Also i personally prefer single line and not the rows (like i see on QC or Floor). In case of UX it's harder to navigate or to understand the whole patch (i'm agree), but much easier to work on specific place cause it takes the middle place on your screen and you literally know & feel "it's just here in this place".
Also i prefer buttons. Sensor screens die sometimes & capacitive touchscreen don't like water or any conductive shit, GL to tune it when it's wet :)
That's why my Garmin watch doesn't have touchscreen.

Btw, actually folks are selling sapphire glass over the web. Could be a great idea to replace basic plastic w/ sapphire one to avoid the scratches (my sapphire glass looks like new while titanium is pretty used) 🤔

"I am negative and critical in every one of my posts, but I totally don't hate it, and someone suggesting I get something else is making themselves look foolish, not I, who should probably take the suggestion to heart, but refuse to." :rofl

Again, again and yet again: Read the thread before coming up with utterly stupid nonsense,

Just so much: Both my decisions to a) buy and b) keep the unit are extremely informed decisions. I also tried pretty much every other unit that could possibly do the job myself, owned an HX Floor before (and still own a Stomp). So your "suggestions" aren't even worth the bytes it takes to publish them on the web, simply because I'm aware of all of it already. If I weren't, I hadn't bought or kept the GT. But I did.

Go re-read your negative responses about a product you supposedly like. It was suggested that we get it, and that you should get another product. Instead, you wish to continue acting like I haven't read your various negative responses about the GT-1000, like your original post, wherein you basically said all of the amp models are shit and the dynamics were bad (paraphrasing, not a direct quote). If you can't handle that, then go blow it out your ass.

The Helix/QC/Ampero 2 "signal snake" with 4 rows has its pros and cons, but one of the big pros is that you can see your entire preset at a glance. On the QC/Ampero 2 touchscreen units you can just tap any block and get to editing that thing so it's really quick to get to where you want compared to Boss's signal path scrolling.

Even if it can be visually a bit harder to follow until you learn that it's basically either row 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4, or row 1+2/3+4 in parallel etc.

As for touchscreen durability...the Boss is equally fucked if its scroll encoder fails. Just don't let people pour beer on your gear, and don't play guitar right after getting out of the shower I suppose.

As a suggestion to start with (as you seem too lazy to read the thread: Read this. Not only will this inform you about the main reason for me to still like the unit, no, it'll also - and possibly even more so - why your "suggestions" aren't worth anything, simply because they wouldn't even be able to compete with any of it.

"All the blocks in the grid in every preset" irks me the most about the GT-1000. FAR prefer the GX style "use what you want and nothing more" approach.
I just move the output jack I plan to use to the front, and then move the blocks I want in front of that and ignore the rest because they are after the output jack I am using.

Considering the amount of negative replies from you about almost everything the unit does, a reply with "the reason I still 'like' the unit" doesn't matter to me.

Every bit this. Let alone that selecting things on the unit is a thousand times faster due to the touchscreen.
And I'd instantly purchase a GX instead if only it had global blocks (aka "Stompboxes"). But unfortunately it doesn't - and that's been my main reason to even think about buying a GT. And fwiw, it already shows why it's been a great decision because I made use of them on each and every gig ever since already.

it's hard to fuck an encoder and easy to replace btw. It's not an analog which is dying each time you use it.

Btw, i tried today to record my guitar via USB on my laptop. Ohh damn so so nice <3

@Sascha Franck have you tried to record something from USB of your BOSS to a usb or something else of a Digital recorder? If yes, can you share the model please?
I don't wanna use laptop for audio recording and wanna pass by a small & handy device on a battery.

Very defenitely. But at least you could use the mobile editor in case all else fails.
However, and that's defenitely one of the main reasons for me to absolutely like Boss: I still have both a GT-5 and GT-10, both of them possibly took more of a beating than any other devices, and there's never been a serious hardware fault. Yes, the "jog wheel" was getting quite wobbly on both after years, but with the GT-10 I once took it apart and cleaned all the switches (there's been sand in them, and don't ask me why - yes, bassist back then, looking at you!), used the opportunity to also clean and kinda "tighten" the jog wheel contacts, worked almost as new after that. No other fails ever. Boss has a tradition of making things that last and the GTs are no exception here.

Oh for sure, I wouldn't expect the Boss to fail easily. The point was that the encoder failure is likely to be just as big an issue as a touchscreen failing. But it's not like they are just going to happen as easily as say dropping your phone or something.
