I knew you weren’t an analog delay guy as soon as you said you didn’t like the Carbon Copy

I never said that I don't believe? The brightness is what i am curious about.

Did some more "testing" this AM. I have a short delay and a longer delay dialed in on the DM. It sounds fantastic. I pulled it out of the mix and put the FM3 in it's place in the loop for delays/verbs and some modulations. The difference is non-existent as far as immediacy and variety of effects and associated tones. The quality is just as good to my ears but probably because I am a digital delay guy at heart.

I think I am rotating to my usual POV of analog up front, digital in the loop. I could go on a extravagant digital delay rabbit hole but the FM(s) are already here and sound glorious. I think I am just as well off putting the FM3 on the board with the analog drives and chorus and being good to go. Oh my god I have went full Gasp

the only reason I have for using a pedal delay (analog or digital) is for hands on knob access...digital delays are just so good at getting any sound that the tonal preference is non-existent for me.

My other guitarist uses one and it sounds good with him playing through it. I could borrow it but i have a feeling I would be in this same boat.

Yeah, I don’t think it would be worth it. It’s not gonna do anything magical that you’re not already getting with the DM

A while back I had the EHX DMM and WH Supa Puss to shoot out together. The Supa Puss might have been better built. The EHX stayed but both sounded great with tons of tonal and functional overlap.

The RE202 pulls primary duty on my board but the DMM still occasionally comes out when I want that flavor and it totally delivers.

I loved the DM101, but mono in stereo out always ends up being a pain in the ass to work around, and I hated giving up that amount of board space for a mono anything. (I’m weird lol) Its definitely a badass pedal though straight into the front of an amp. Modern mode into a just breaking up dirty clean tone

Can’t go wrong with the SDE for sure. Thought maybe you had changed your mind on that and wanted analog. I’m just a sucker for nice delays and high quality reverbs and my inventory proves it. Kinda stupid really, maybe one more LOL.

Yeah the SDE and DM101 are completely different animals.

SDE + any chorus and you are immediately in the zone.
