Best Recorded and Live Soldano Tones

Eddie Van Halen and Michael Soldano's relationship was a significant one in the history of guitar amplification, with Eddie using Soldano amplifiers extensively and contributing to the development of the Soldano SLO-100. Eddie's involvement with Soldano led to the creation of amps like the 5150, which were influenced by the Soldano SLO-100

He asked for examples of metal :bag :crazy:beer

These guys from Maryland had two brothers that played PRS (they knew Paul) into Soldano SLOs, one on lead with just a DigiTech RP2000?, the other on rhythm plugged directly into the SLO, no FX:

Vocals + Horn are by Phil Ritchie, you might remember him from Rockstar Supernova...

It's a shame they didn't get their "break", used to hang with them when they'd bounce into Gotham for shows.
Great energy, loud as hell, you could still hear the drummer over the screamin' amps :rawk

Once the brothers got pissed @ Phil, the greatness faded quick, this is the brothers' last album & tracks 2-4 are my favorite (the whole album rocks, sounded better/bigger *live*), be sure to give it a listen 🚀

I wish I could go back to 2002, what a great time to go see up & coming *new* talent!

WTF happened :cuss

For me, I can't recall a single EVH tone in the 1990s that topped what Eddie coaxed out of Marshalls
in the 1970s and 80s.

Sorry, Eddie. :(

I'd love to know the changes in amp design and topology that differentiated a Soldano from a
Marshall. :idk
