Axe-FX (A Love Story?) Rd.1

Good stuff. I was watching a video about this but they kind of sped through it. This will be great for a reference.

Generally I like having the reverbs and delays effecting each other (and am even a fan of running reverb into delay) but doing the parallel thing might have some cool setups to explore.
I on the other hand prefer parallel. I even use a Gigrig Wetter Box with my pedalboard for this. I wish somebody made something in "fits under the board and is stereo I/O" for this though as I don't really use the blend feature on it.

Congratulations! Wow!

You may even find out it’s generally not noticeably different to change the delay & reverb order! :stirthepot

Also a demo on post #9 on that thread.

Messing around with it watching some football. I thought “I’ll demo all the amps with some gain”. I only made it through the second column of amps. 🤣 The amp list is staggering.

I just threw my Friedman IR on for all amps. Some of these would have definitely benefited from tailoring the cab to the amp, but I really liked…

59 SLP
5153 Red (Odd because when I owned it I loved the Blue channel and hated the Red)
800 Mod
Brit Brown

But the undisputed heavyweight champion (of the first two columns ) is the JVM OD1 Orange. (Red isn’t half bad either) Sweet sassy malassy that goes hard. And what’s awesome is you can be deliberate with the gain to get some really punchy crisp tones, not just the chugs. Absolutely killer.

I’m having a lot of fun with this thing. 👍

TBH I didn’t check anything in the cab block after loading it. (Using the York blend M01)

Part of the recent magic is making sure that you have the appropriate SIC (speaker impedance curve), which is specific to the frackle amp modeling, which ties the amplifier/speaker cabinet power interaction together.

This is done automagically in Dynacab. 👍

Or you can manually apply one from the list and tweak it with the available options.

Yeah, the Marshalls models are all pretty much bad-ass.

Yeah, it’s an all you can eat buffet of Marshall.

What’s really cool is that within each of them, playing around with adding the drive block vs input boost, and saturation mode(s) versus normal, allows a ton of versatility. You could probably sit down and spend an hour or two with just one of them experimenting. Generally I’m sticking with the stock amps, but the 59 SLP with sat on is kinda filthy too.

Have you messed with the volume control on your guitar? I feel like the amp models clean up really well, especially the Marshalls

Did you match the speaker impedance curve to your Friedman cab IR? - makes all the difference.

How kind I find out the impedance curve for the Friedman 412? (Note I’m using the York IRs of it not a dynacab or stock fractal cab)
