Are you meaning just usb from boss to computer, or 5-pin midi out to usb in on computer?

SY-300 midi ports to USB midi device should work, so long as the USB Midi adapter is a good one (Roland UM-One Mk2 is a good one).
Those crappy chinese el-cheepo ones don't do it.

ok so i haven't tried that I think and yeah i have a roland um-one mk2, but it's being occupied elsewhere in my stuff for my strymons and meris lvx, so will have to get another some other time.
