Well I have never heard Eagle play nor have I heard (that I know of) an H90 so I can't say which sounds better! Post clips if you have them!

Clearly you have no clue of what quality looks like or sounds like. The S7 has a harsh poor tone and often function issues. Why do guitar players that can’t get the tone out of an instrument assume that it’s all a matter of opinion and if they sound just as bad on £5k as £500 then there is obviously no difference. Sort of like the reverse Larry Carlton effect.

Oh sample size of every one I see. Probably about 50 so far.

Ok how about we post some clips then? I'll play on my humble little squier or my PRS DGT SE....you pick whatever $10k+ guitar you want to play on....deal?

I'm not a recording genius but I can record a basic track on reaper and think I can get a clip out for an occasion like this.

I've also owned a Core PRS DGT in the past but sold that. Just have to do with the regular SE POS version that I have now which is obviously so much inferior.

If Eagle wishes, we can just do a quick phone recording to not complicate things. What say Eagle?

I don’t see how that will capture the nuance. As I said before it’s in the room and mostly the experience for the player. Like an axe Dumble patch is going to work for the listener particularly if there is no reference or control even in a recording you’re hardly able to tell but playing one in the room is night and day. Do you think you could tell the difference between a 25k hi fi and a Bose WiFi speaker recorded on a phone? I doubt it but that doesn’t mean they are the same or just personal preference. I even said Larry makes his S7 sound good, it’s just when you’re sat with him and he switched to his 335 that you get it .
What do you think is the percentage difference between the worst and best electric guitars you have ever played is in tone? If this difference doesn’t matter to you buy the cheapest functional guitar but don’t kid yourself that there is no difference.
Or do you own a Les Paul and a Strat ? Why they sound the same or the difference is in that spectrum .

I just spit on my SE Hollowbody and Road Series Martin because of how disgusted I am with them. POS

I have done that comparison...and the DGT SE that I have now is no way a hugely inferior guitar. I also have a PRS S2 with all American hardware - again - PRS DGT SE is no slouch at all. It is a fantastic guitar in every respect and in the 90s or 2000s this level of quality would have been Made in America quality.

I don’t disagree. But the weak points imo are the pickups mostly. The hardware is cheaper but it works. It depends if the last few percent matters to the player because they get expensive. Feel and attention to detail are for the player also. The PRS se line are soo much better that the S7 though. I think there are many great budget guitars these days better than ever ( not the S7 ) but my business is in most part vintage, rare, high end and collectible. I see it all and I definitely see a difference I and my clients appreciate in the art. Some of this is fine art . I had four instruments in last year in excess of 500k each . This is nothing to do with how good they are because most vintage even at the high end is not as good as things begin made now. It can be quite inspiring to play an instrument that one of your favourite artists played an iconic piece of music on even only a couple of times. Oh and I’ve never played a famous guitar that was actually as good as my own stuff.

I'll be honest, I really dig affordable guitars; Schecter stuff, PRS SE, LTD (if it's not too garish), Sadowsky on the bass side, etc. But I will say, in defense of Eagle's enthusiastic bagging of Sire, that the last few I've seen in person at both CME and Sweetwater have been icky, QC-wise. I really don't get the point, IMHO. They're not a great bang for the buck, like a Yamaha Revstar, or well set up Ibanez.

Yeah, the Artcore stuff has actually gotten better again, within the last couple years too.
