The gear community? It seems like every week there’s a new plugin, modeler, or something that’s touted as the next “game changer.”
The guitar gear market is already ridiculously saturated. So if they’re going to make those claims, then they’d better bring their fucking A-game, because the gear community isn’t going to tolerate it and will wipe the floor with their bullshit.
Yes, the gear community. The amorphous blob of people on various forums, social media, etc. that spend the most money on MI gear. Shit travels fast. The gear community?
Its 150 bucks, thats like 1 1/2 dinners with my gurl friend.Yes, the gear community. The amorphous blob of people on various forums, social media, etc. that spend the most money on MI gear. Shit travels fast.
I’m just pointing out that negative shit spreads fast because Internet. This time it’s just a $150 plugin, next time it’s a $999 amp. Not everyone’s a big spender like you either, so maybe $150 means more to them than it does to a high roller like yourself. Its 150 bucks, thats like 1 1/2 dinners with my gurl friend.
Look around at the guys complaining and at what.
I got 12 ndsp plugs and literally dont use them. The gear community. Lol
Guitar community was funny enough…
Im far from a high roller. I just happen to spend my bread on gear but look at this thread…data mining…because using your email addy as login name shows your email addy as user handle…I’m just pointing out that negative shit spreads fast because Internet. Not sure NDSP is the best comparison, this is maybe closer to ToneX SE or NAM. I think I paid about £30-50 for ToneX SE. A lot of potential users may well be familiar with ToneX and NAM so it’s a tougher sell than it would have been for whoever gets there first. If this is the price that works best though, fair play - go for it. Not sure I can see anyone paying $300 unless it includes hw but maybe I’m wrongIts 150 bucks, thats like 1 1/2 dinners with my gurl friend.

I wasn’t really commenting at all as to its functionality, workflow, quality, or who likes it. I was addressing your comment about the gear community, as well as how information (good or bad) spreads quickly. Luckily Tom King himself addressed much of it quickly, so that’s good. I also don’t give two shits whether Rob Chapman works with him or not. Sure, Chappers is a tool, but that wouldn’t deter me from buying the plugin. Lots of people in the MI industry are tools.Im far from a high roller. “I give away my valuable captures in demo mode”…
No system specs…
No manual…
And my fave beta testers cant be trusted. Like i haven’t posted prior to this. Like folks need to lie for 150 bucks.
What is not talked about is that it simply works (at least for my work flow)
Why you think the most favoured tonex profiler and the nam guy dig it.
Jus sayin
Data mining is definitely referencing the app pulling captures straight to the cloud without their knowledge and sharing them. Sharing email addresses publicly without the ability to change it is probably more akin to doxing.data mining…because using your email addy as login name shows your email addy as user handle…
The issue for me is more they are NOT valuable captures, they are tests and I’d rather not clog up the cloud or have my name associated with captures that dont represent what I’m trying to do. I was just testing, not planning to keep them. Definitely wasn’t aware they’d be available to everyone else.“I give away my valuable captures in demo mode”…
$300 list plugin, big claims, CBA to launch with a manual because people can’t wait another day without these tones. No system specs…
No manual…
Cool if this plugin is made just for you but hopefully it’s useful for the widest possible audience. What is not talked about is that it simply works (at least for my work flow)

Yeah, but not for NAM models, as soon as you incorporate those you are juggling different reference levels again. Even if the process is quick, I don’t fancy remaking 500+ NAM models again….. I’ve mentioned loads that they got the calibration and capture process handled very well (among other things). Not really much else to say or discuss about it - the other comments seem to have more varied opinions and topics to discuss. I think it’s more productive to discuss things warts and all and then the product actually gets improved? If it’s just meaningless pats on the back then it’s a bit less constructive.Remember all the dBu discussions? This lets you enter your interfaces value and done.
Sure fir everything theres room for improvement.Yeah, but not for NAM models, as soon as you incorporate those you are juggling different reference levels again. I hope so. Great looking interface, and if the caps are great, it’s a fantastic option.Sure fir everything theres room for improvement.
Lets see what happens with updates but im guessing/judging by Tom responses they gonna do it right.
Time will tell.
I think there’s a solid idea and the desire to make it good is clearly there. Looking forward to seeing how it evolves.Sure fir everything theres room for improvement.

Sure if its the same speed and batch processing, the hour plus stuff for a single capture im too impatient for.I’d love to see something that will train all locally as well. Not really loving the cloud aspect.
I’m happy that $150 is considered disposable for you. $150 is a week’s worth of groceries in my home. Its 150 bucks, thats like 1 1/2 dinners with my gurl friend.
