Are 4x12 cabs really that good?

4x12 cabs... people forget.

If memory serves, Townsend had Marshall build him some 8x12s but the roadies complained bitterly about the weight so they cut them in half and created the 4x12.

I was a big fan and saw The Who open for Herman's Hermits who were touring to support Henery the Eighth back in the sixties during The Who's My Generation tour. It was a magical time for music.
