Yeah - no one wants 4x12s anymore to lug around I guess.ive been looking for a 212 for years. i find them occasionally but the perverse prices people ask... sigh.
I see 4x12s for cheap all the time on FB Marketplace. A music store near me has a no-name brand 4x12 for $70.Yeah - no one wants 4x12s anymore to lug around I guess.![]()
Never heard a 4x10 cab in person, maybe it sounds phenomenal...Respectfully...
4x10 is where it's at

They do. Think if you took a 4x12, made it half the weight, less loud and had less bass you have to dial out so it is not boomy.Never heard a 4x10 cab in person, maybe it sounds phenomenal...
It's a shame that apart from the Super Reverb it has never become a popular cab format.
Stereo!I go back and forth with my current rig. Do I get another Recto 2x12 for stereo with axe fx3 and LX-II or get a 4x12 Trad straight Recto?
If memory serves, Townsend had Marshall build him some 8x12s but the roadies complained bitterly about the weight so they cut them in half and created the 4x12.4x12 cabs... people forget.
