Anyone Want Some Free Acoustic IR's

I stumbled on this site while trying to make my Tele sound like an acoustic with Stomp XL + ToneX. Not there yet but getting close. If anyone has any suggestions, Feel free to let me know.

If you only want to apply the frequency properties (and no body "ringing" or whatever you may call it), it's not too tough doing it yourself.
You do need a DAW for that to work.
Here's how it goes:

- Grab the free (and most excellent) "Spectrum Thief" plugin (which actually is a Match EQ) from Ghost Note Audio:

Spectrum Thief is an EQ-matching plugin that can export impulse responses. Great for capturing the frequency response of speaker cabinets, or creating adjustment filters to tone-match your guitar tone (or even a full mix), to a reference sound. The plugin is FREE and requires no authentication...

- Grab a great recording of an acoustic guitar from wherever. Rip it off whatever medium. Doesn't matter much whether there's reverb on it, but it should be solo-ed.

- Record some bits of your own guitar as you intend to play it for that purpose (experiment with all pickup positions).

- Watch the video on the Spectrum Thief page to see how things work.

- Let the thing do its magic and export an IR straight from the plugin.

- Load the IR into your HX Stomp.

This can work pretty well.

Tell me more please. Will one of these make my Tele sound like an acoustic through PA? Not looking for perfect, but in the range of what a PRS Piezo would do. Do you have a clip on a single coil electric that I can hear somewhere?

Acoustic IR

I’ve grabbed some off of this site. Specifically Martin dreadnaughts. They are decent and definitely provide a different flavor than the Taylor ones I normally use. The site is overwhelming though. If you’re not making your own IRs then trial and error and using your ears is really the only way to do it.

Sure, here is a Strat with a single coil. I used the LRS Mag Pickup 2 preset. I added the Mezza preamp IR (taken from a Mezzabarba Trinity) included in the pack parallel with the loaded IR and made adjustments to the acoustic sim in the preset to fit this guitar. First few seconds are the guitar DI then I activate the preset in Helix Native.
