Anyone know what reverb tank was in the Orange Rockerverb MKI???

Not MKII nor MKIII. The MKI had a very different reverb. Super wet, super dark, super fucking crufty. But it was ace.

Interesting. Any idea if it’s a mechanical difference limited to the tank or are they also treating the signal differently in the circuit?

I have no hands on experience nor schematics, but what Orvie is describing sounds more circuit than pan. The pan can certainly change the character as well, but I am guessing it’s circuit differences or a combination of both.

Reckon they're just driving the tank super hard?? Wonder if I could modify my MKIII to do the same?

This was my thought as well. I’ve rarely found replacing tanks to give me what I’m looking for. There’s almost always a circuit modification needed as well.

Careful mind, don't go opening up the reverb tank near the top of the stairs or this happens:
