As much as we rag on it, I still regularly see the Kemper on TV concerts for halftime shows, amusement park shows, etcYup, in 30 years that Kemper will still deliver the goods, as on day one of your use of it.
It's probably the most popular "stage modeler". Maybe it's just because people picked it up 10+ years ago, or maybe it's because you can easily plug it into a cab like any amp so it feels more familiar. As much as we rag on it, I still regularly see the Kemper on TV concerts for halftime shows, amusement park shows, etc
I think like 3 people rag on it?As much as we rag on it, I still regularly see the Kemper on TV concerts for halftime shows, amusement park shows, etc
All HD500, including cab sim, with nothing but volume knob and pickup selector changed during the take:
It's not the most dynamic sound in the world, but I could certainly see somebody having that sound and thinking "I'm totally fine with this" until the thing kicked the bucket. Much like a Peavey Classic 30This sounds...
GROOVY!

I know several local touring pros who have used Kemper or Fractal in the past and have transitions to QC at some point. As much as we rag on it, I still regularly see the Kemper on TV concerts for halftime shows, amusement park shows, etc
Most likely transitioned for the Bells/ Whistles and easy conveniences of technology.I know several local touring pros who have used Kemper or Fractal in the past and have transitions to QC at some point.![]()
I agree completely. Most likely transitioned for the Bells/ Whistles and easy conveniences of technology.
Either way Kempers and Fractals will always have great tone to offer, no matter what the "Gear Fashionistas" say .... Good tone never goes out of style .
There was a pretty fair bit of overlap between me getting the FR and selling the Stealth. I like to make sure I'm happy with The New Thing before selling The Old Thing. Kinda makes sure I always have a setup I'm quite happy with.I can see how it happened. And if you werent using the 5150 channels, why keep it?
So you sold and got the fr12.
I know of one popular artist who went from Fractal to QC and back to Fractal.I know several local touring pros who have used Kemper or Fractal in the past and have transitions to QC at some point.![]()
5153s are dope. The 6L6 is my favorite of the 50w versions. The red channel is definitely top-tier like everyone knows, but the blue channel is fucking god-tier. The 6L6 is more versatile than the Stealth.I feel like I want a 5150 for the lead channel, knowing full well that I would get bored when I realize the amp doesnt do much else, then sell it.
Maybe an ENGL Fireball would be a better version of the same thing. idk.
Enabler!
Especilaly there I wouldn't want to be caught up in my head, thinking about playing music. In a studio where your paying by the hour
Those DG Stomps were solid kit and I totally could play gigs with one without complaints.I think it will be interesting to see how these end up.
I felt a bit nostalgic when in Japan I saw a used Yamaha DG-Stomp for about 20 €. It was all scratched but probably still worked fine, was tempted to buy one.
I think a lot of today's gear will be much loved by people on a budget, who can buy a GT-1000, or a HX Stomp for reasonable money by the time everyone else has moved on to The Next Big Thing(s). Even brand new, it has never been cheaper to get good tone out of modelers.
TGP getting inundated with ads and making me quit it really curbed my GAS. Not browsing the buy/sell forums there was great for not spending money on shit I don't need.
