5153 Issue (?)

Running my el34 50w 5153 into a Suhr RL and when I have the volume up at around 10 o'clock, I get almost a brief echo after I stop playing. Is this what a microphonic tube is? I don't have the preamp tubes at the moment to try and swap out.

Or is it just a side effect of a loud amp (albeit into a loadbox)?

With the amp turned on, use the soft eraser of a No. 2 pencil and gently tap on each of the preamp tubes and listen. A microphonic tube will stand out from a low/non-microphonic tube.

Going vertical frees up more space

No kidding! I never thought of how much wasted amp and cab space there is up on the ceiling.

We need to figure out a way to mount them up there. That would be sick!
