4x12 Cabinet Depth?

Are pretty much all of the higher end 4x12 cabs about 14" deep? Are the overall dimensions fairly uniform between all companies? I'm thinking about eventually getting one, even though it's impractical. I know nothing about 4x12s.

I moved my V30 into my 14" deep 2x12 cab, and it sounded much better in the room and under a mic than my 11.5" deep 2x12. Naturally, I started to wonder about a Mesa 4x12.

I'm thinking of eventually pairing it with my 6505 when I want to play heavy sounds.

not sure on the exact measurements but i can confirm that a 6505 fits on a mesa 4x12 with no muffin top.

Cab depth matters a lot.
Yes, 14" is a common depth for 4x12 cabs at the bottom.

It’s a big deal for sure. I had an Avatar Vinatge 2x12 cab that I loved that was 12” deep. When I got my Metropoulos slant 2x12, it’s 14” deep at the bottom and of course has a slanted baffle. The bottom 4 inches of the cab have that 14” depth and it sounds massive. Much more so than the Avatar I had.

All the 412’s I’ve used are 14” deep. The Mesas might be a touch deeper.
